The OP and the time you let the cat out is 8 hours apart. 8 hours is kind of like 13 days.

I'm the same way though. Last week I bought my mom some grips for her .38 and it was all I could do to wait for her birthday.

Doc, you're not the only one, I too have a hard time keeping good secrets from those I care about. I always attributed it to the fact that I like to see them happy. While at times it is an annoyance, it's not really a bad thing.

So when I am handing her that box on Christmas morning and all our family are gathered around I have no idea if I am handing her a nice set of ear rings on a pair of edible underwear.

The last trip I planned (just a long weekend get-away) - I didn't tell my wife where we were going.

She did know we were going away - and that it wasn't "south" to warmer climates / beach.

She didn't care. Not one bit did she care not knowing where we were going.

I told her the morning of the trip that we were going to Traverse City, MI. "cool", she said.

She just doesn't get juiced about things like that. Nor does she get excited when I let her know that I have a gift or something for her. *sigh*
