There is an atmosphere of raw fear permeating the several counties in the southwest tip of our fine state.

If you are not aware from news coverage, there are now 4 missing and of those 3 unaccounted for women in this area.

One lady has shown up dead on a river bank.

There have been substantiated reports of a couple of attempted abductions in parking lots of what would normally be considered rather benign locations.

Hospital and shopping center parking lots specifically.

Personally, I am going to be making a concerted effort to be seen open carrying in these type of nondescript locations as time and my errands permit.

I suggest others follow the same lead. An armed grassroots community statement is warranted here if for nothing more than an unmistakable, strong visual statement.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but as told in the reports I've seen......


One was from early after her disappearance thought to have been walking on the White River bank near a boat ramp of her own accord. Her body was later found near said ramp .


One disappeared from her home after leaving a note saying she could never be happy there.

One was last seen leaving the VFW in Boonville at or about 1:30 am August 15th

One was last seen , and reports vary, leaving a party or walking home from a party in Evansville after being dropped off by a man who was later questioned by police. Last location being near the Park and Florida St intersection , not far from Pigeon Creek ( and it's several bridges) has been mentioned in some reports.




The missing are, Megan Nichols, Joelle Lockwood, Kristy Kelley. Dara Fine was the one recovered.

Read up more on these stories, I don't think your GF ( or anyone else's) is in more danger of abduction than usual.
If there is any info or evidence that any one of these was abducted I'd like to see it. I have two daughters , both married in the late 20s early 30s age group . Interested in this yes, but so far real details are kinda sparse. The oft' quoted possible link between the two unexplained missing women , Joelle Lockwood and Kristy Kelley is that both were wearing blue jean shorts and tank tops.
I wonder what percentage of 20-30 something women would also be clothed thusly in 90F heat.

I'm speaking to the debilitating fear that is gripping the community. You can slice and dice the sporadic and non-conclusive news reports all you want. That exercise does nothing to quell the present panic that is gripping the community.

Ok now I see. So why mention shopping centers and hospitals? Why not stage a show of force at the Boonville VFW or at the intersection of Florida and Park or the home of Kristey Kelley ? Would it not be more effective to go the last known locations of the missing to make a demonstration of public resolve?

No actually grandstanding like that would accomplish little. If you would read the OP, the idea is to saturate the community with OC at every turn to dissuade dark souls.

I would suggest that the debilitating panic is being fed by insinuations of wrongdoing or abduction when two of the four cases have been known voluntary acts by the women themselves .
