Once again another crime committed by some of Indys finest model citizens. Good work IMPD on catching these idots and hopefully it will be a very long time before they see the light of day outside of some prison walls.

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
I have read all the posts and pondered on if I should post at all but I feel I must.
I have been a patron of Profire and find it an excellent shop as well as an asset to the shooting reloading community.
Andrew has shown his commitment to community and being a responsible business owner by being a very active supporter of the 2nd amendment, Profire is a sponsor of the "Blue Star" program that recognizes veterans and their families. Profire is often supporting other shooting related businesses on weekend by assisting with special events. (That was why his trailer was loaded.) And Andrew is a contribute and sponsor to this very forum.

I too was a victim of a theft several years ago. And although it was not nearly of as much value as Profires. It left me with a whole range of emotions from anger and distrust to embarrassment. Yes it is so easy to look back and see what we should have done. I know he and his staff are going through these feelings for the weeks to come.

I for one will not withhold my patronage and support of one of Indiana best firearms related business's and individuals. And I hope to have the opportunity again soon to shoot some of his Class III pieces.

    This. Right here.

It takes a very thick skin for someone to weather the crap Andrew has had to put up with from all sorts of people over the years. Yet rather than becoming jaded, each time he has had an issue he has worked to ensure the problem can't repeat, and he has still maintained his positive contributions to the shooting community. He has given more to further gun owner's enjoyment of the sport/hobby/lifestyle, than most other places that are way larger than his. For this reason he and Profire have my unqualified support.

No matter what precautions are taken, someone can always find a way past them with sufficient motivation. Most people who have criticized in this thread are talking out of their asses.

Perhaps a lapse in common sense ruled the decision to get a jump on the next days trip? Quite a learning lesson and I bet one that made a lasting impression. Hope the police find the guys and charge them with everything that might stick. Possible Federal charges?

Detectives arrested 42 year old Clifford Helm for possession of a machine gun, theft, carrying a handgun without a license, and possession of paraphernalia. They also arrested 54 year old Linda Panken for possession of cocaine.

I can't link to the story from my phone.

Glad the good guys have already found some of the hardware! I hate that this happened at all, it's no good for anyone besides the criminals. As far as Profire goes I have had both good and bad experiences, I don't think they're douchebags though. Good job IMPD!

I was wondering if the event wasn't some idiot quick score deal, or they had a history of theft.
Wonder if these two crooks are linked to some troublemakers elsewhere.
BTW, it wouldn't surprise me if the thieves ended up to be stereotypical thugs........but I was thinking Neo nazi from the get-go.
It'll be interesting to see where these two fall sociopolitical.
    Got 'em, make 'em sing.
Good job on nailing them fast! :yesway:

So saying that it is irresponsible to leave machineguns out overnight in a light trailer is talking out of my ass? Even when the owner has had a previous NFA theft from a vehicle at night? How exactly is that "working to make sure the problem can't repeat"?

    Whatever.

This thread has so many people running scared from even a hint of personal responsibility that it disgusts me.

I get many of you are personal friends with the guys as profire, but damn.

Just what I was thinking and what a lot of us have been saying outside this board. Stuck between nice guy/friend and 2nd time "victim."

Could you please tell me where you are getting this info? I have looked and looked and I can't find any record of a gun being recovered either on 86th Street as you mentioned earlier or Allisonville Rd. as you are now saying. You can send me a PM if you want....

VUPD......I will pm you some more info. 61st & Allisonville, 3:30 Monday afternoon.

I don't see that anything Profire did was wrong. Could they have been done better? I would think so, but hindsight is 20/20. I will reserve judgment until I have more facts. I will continue to support Profire until such a revelation warrants my reevaluation of the status quo.
