Second New Balance, but good support makes a difference also. Keep in mind that "cushy" shoes may feel comfortable but may cause more pain in the long run. I'd get a good set of orthotics/arch supports.
Go to fleet feet and get measured. They will fit you in a shoe that works for you and will add in insoles if you need them. Avg price I'd say is around $100.

That flu sucks but it is sure to take some weight off you... on the plus side...
