They were not blind/ignorant. This was not a case of "hiring" a lobbyist. Illinois Firearms Manufacturers Association was created by, and owned by, Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms. No other manufacturers are members. Guess who the big wheels in the Association are?

Dennis Reese - Director, and CEO of Springfield Armory
Tom Reese - Director, and ‎Chairman of the Board at Springfield Armory
Chuck Larson - Director, and Founder of Rock River Arms
    Jay Keller - Executive Director

There is no possibility that they did not know what Keller was doing.

It is possible. Lets say that Glock and Danial Defense got to Jay Keller, paid him off to get a sweet carve out from the IL law for SA and RRA knowing that if it was discovered both SA and RRA would lose market share that they would hope to pick up. Another possibility is that it was actually Bloomberg that bought off Keller knowing the backlash may just end 2 gun manufactures due to the appearance they sold out gun owners and dealer in IL. At this point either narrative is better and more believable than the BS statements they have released so far.

And if any of that were true, SA and RRA would have already filed a very public suit against Keller.

I guess I should have put that in purple but I thought the sarcasm was obvious. Especially since I ended it with "At this point either narrative is better and more believable than the BS statements they have released so far."

I would like to hear from Jay Keller, if he has not died mysteriously.

Link does not work, computer says it is dangerous.

Anybody else notice the irony here? Even an inanimate object knows that what SA did was "dangerous" to the 2nd, gun owners and dealers everywhere.

Oh, and I particularly liked Reese's "Schumer tears". What a putz.

What a BS video. His 'Schumer tears' are because he got caught stabbing all the IL gun owners and dealers in the back.

To little to late for me

Yup. I would say more than 75% of the firearms I own are Springfield, but now I will never spend another dime on them. There is no excuse, and this video is a pathetic attempt. IF the video/apology had come right away, then maybe I would think differently; that they actually were just dumb in all of this. But I don't believe them, I can't trust them, and I will never be able to trust them again. Now the important question: which manufacturer do I buy now? Opinions please!

Keep Beretta in mind. When Maryland tightened the screws on firearm owners, Beretta began construction of a new factory in Tennessee and have since moved a lot of their equipment out of Maryland and started production in Tennessee. Not a overnight move, but production is ramping up in Tenn and ramping down in MD. Not many manufacturers have the gonads to make such an expensive decision, and one reason why I have a lot of respect for them.

This would make a good "sticky". It could be a tiered list of companies. Let's say: tier 1=Barrett for refusing gov't contracts from anti-2A state's agencies; tier 2=Beretta and Magpul taking their business out of state; tier 3=Kimber thumbing their nose at anti-gun pols and making guns in the shadow of NYC, but without endorsing anti-gun policy

He wants me to to go sign up to help fight this bill? Would not even be a problem if they did not go from against it to neutral. Are you kidding me this is his mess that SA and Rock did. Take all there profits for a year sell there houses and cars but it all into fighting this bill. Don't ask me for money or time to clean up there mess.
