You mean other than that the 'source' you provided is the same people pushing the test and selling the 'premium profiles'?
It's been very consistent.
I've worked to strengthen some of the advantages and overcome the disadvantages, especially around social inadequacies, but my basic preferences are still what they are.

What science or research is ever free? Would you come to a different conclusion if it were developed from a from altruism rather than a desire to make a living?
It's been very consistent for me regardless of who's test I take and how the questions are worded. The first time I took it and subsequent times until I was in my 40s I was consistently an INFP, and the description of INFP fit me best then. I guess life kicked the F out of me. Now INTP fits me better. And every time I take the test now, I get INTP.
Neither INTP or INFP has ever hit every mark describing behavioral traits. But it has hit the core marks uncannily. I've worked to strengthen some of the advantages and overcome the disadvantages, especially around social inadequacies, but my basic preferences are still what they are.
Point is, it seems to be as accurate for many others as it is for me, such that it's accuracy isn't just chance. But for your type, ENTP-T, it doesn't seem all that accurate. For ATM it seems obvious, but I would not have guess you're an ENTP. I don't know if that's a failure of the concept or a failure of the execution. Maybe you might take the other versions around the web and see how consistently they identify your preferences.
Jamil, I was primarily answering a challenge to my position from ATM. That being said, that would not be a source I would use to attempt to determine the accuracy and veracity of the test
Would you ask someone in the business of selling you a new roof for advice about whether your roof needs to be replaced?

You're really not asking them the same question you're asking the roofer. You're not asking them if you need to be tested. You're asking them essentially how accurate does it identify our personalities. And I think it's important to talk about what that means and how valuable is there to knowing what it tells you.
What it tells us is our preferences in how we process information and interact with the world. Assuming that it can accurately tell us that, how much value is there to knowing that? As I've said, I find it useful for introspection and even to help other people not take me the wrong way. But I don't think it has a lot of value beyond that. I'm not going to take note of everyone's MBTI and use it to help me interact with them. I tend to interact with people more by reading them and reacting accordingly.
So is there a dollar amount we can put on it? HR departments seem to love it. They keep spending money on it. I can't count how many times I've taken the MBTI test since the 80s through employers. I've taken it a few times online outside of employment, but I'd never pay for it myself.
Perhaps I could have chosen a better example, after I used that one I realized that in most cases we do ask someone whose business it is to sell us a roof for advice on repair or replacement because those are the experts.
Perhaps a better example would be would you ask an EPA researcher using government grant money to 'refine' the climate models that 'predict' global warming whether he/she had any doubts about the methodology being used or the predictive value of the results. The point being you can't really rely on a true believer to validly critique their belief
As for the test itself, I did make a valid, honest effort when i took it. If I retook it the only changes might be in the degree of preference where those preferences were not strong. I forget the range of allowed responses but I suspect that increasing from neutral they were something like 'slightly agree or disagree' then 'somewhat' and finally 'strongly'. The things I strongly agree or disagree with I cannot see changing, but the degree of lesser opinions/feelings might have some small degree of flexibility. I did notice i was neutral on very few points
I must confess I did not obsess over what an ENTP is supposed to be but its intriguing that it would (mildly?) surprise you that I was one. Where do I diverge from what I 'should' be?
As an observation, not a criticism, you also seem to give a good deal of deference to authority and will occasionally base an argument on appeal to authority. From what I understand that is very unENTPy.Perhaps I could have chosen a better example, after I used that one I realized that in most cases we do ask someone whose business it is to sell us a roof for advice on repair or replacement because those are the experts.

I am a scientist, I don't just play one on INGO. There are some authorities I am willing to accept (preferrably peer-reviewed)
None of them are above scrutiny.
