The NFL's calling a owners meeting to discuss the issue.
NFL is losing a crapload of $$$$ as the stock worth is plummeting not only the NFL partners are hurting Comcast,CBS,FOX,ESPN ect.

Good. This whole thing is just wrong.

If I caused any company I ever worked for to loose even 1 customer and the revenues attached it would be my A$$. It is a work place like it or not.

^^^^This. I'm a federal employee (gasp) and if I pulled some political crap like this during work hours (and maybe even outside of work, depending on the level of douchebaggery), I'd be out the door.

Well, you're federal employee. There's a pretty significant different for jobs in the public and private sectors.

If the players are required to stand, you can bet there will be concessions. We shall see if they are appropriate.

It is still a workplace. Plain and simple. Yes they have the right and I see all of that. But the owners set the rules. It is their "Stage" to use a term loved by the talking heads.

Ok, let me try a different approach. I work at (fill in the blank) and if I pulled some political crap like this during work hours (and maybe even outside of work, depending on the level of douchebaggery), I'd be out the door.

    See how that works?

Concessions = Perhaps people will start watching football again?

That is the real deal hear. They are disrupting our entertainment/escape the world time with some mindless (to most folks) protest.

We are protesting buy boycotting them and the sponsors and support businesses. Get enough people to protest them and they will come back around. Follow the money. Always follow the money.

Actually, it doesn't work that way in the NFL, per collective bargaining.
Well, the left has won. It has turned the right into snowflakes. Offended over a bunch of guys kneeling.

Federal employees have some restrictions on speech that are location and context specific because they are federal employees. Having spent 20 years in the US Army as a commissioned officer there are certain "speech" restrictions non-government civilians do not have. Nevertheless, many private employers have a policy there will be no campaigning or similar politicking in the workplace. It's to maintain good order and attention to what the employees are there for which is to legally achieve the business goals of their employer.

The players represent a team and a team image owned by the team owner as soon as they go into the locker room and don a team uniform. Their behavior in that uniform reflects on the team and its owner. Would Disney tolerate its employees wearing Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Snow White costumes to engage in political protest while wearing them? The football players are the same as soon as they put on the uniform. Does anyone remember how Peyton Manning religiously donned the proper ball cap whenever he took his helmet off? It was a condition of being the quarterback for that team.

I swore to protect and defend to protect the US Constitution without reservation or intent of evasion with my life. That oath is still binding. Like other retirees I've NEVER been discharged. I'm still an Officer of the United States, even though I'm on the Retired Rolls. I therefore remain bound to that oath for life, and can be recalled to active duty at the stroke of a pen. I'm still bound by all the punitive regulations and laws regarding politicking as a US Army retiree versus doing so as a private citizen. Technically I can still be tried under the UCMJ for violating it albeit the likelihood is slim to zero as a parallel federal statute would be applicable. As soon as I don my uniform as a retiree I represent the U.S. as an Officer of the United States and the expectation at a minimum is doing so in complete compliance with Articles 88, 133 and 134 of the UCMJ, a violation of which is at my peril.

The players are free to do as they wish on their own time when not representing their team. When representing their team they're likewise bound by behavior expectations of those representing the team as it reflects on the team and its owners. While in team uniform or otherwise representing the team they do not have the same First Amendment rights as they do when not representing the team.

Is kneeling during the national anthem considered "bad" behavior... and considering the song, and the players primarily kneeling, I think you'd be hard pressed to make that claim.

That is to simple an explanation but yes it has merit. Just as my simple explanation. I think I am more twisted up that the media put this in the fore. Has kept it alive and has extended it out past its worth. Of course we taking all this time/energy discussing it shows they won.

The left has been chipping away at us like a pack of hyena's culling the weak and indoctrinating them. Yes our numbers are dwindling.
