I love how Glock came out with a pistol that met most of the Army's requirements after the trials. During the trials? "FU, we're Glock. You'll buy what we tell you to."

What about the MHS version didn't meet the requirement but the Sig P320 did?

Maybe they just didn't want to come down enough on the price and figured they'd end up getting the contract eventually via the "trickle down" effect. Since the tip of the spear folks are carrying Glocks, eventually everyone else will want them also, like berets. :):

Hey, I wore a beret before it was cool! :)

One of the keystone requirements was modularity. Glock decided that meant putting a 19 slide on a 17 frame. Army said "don't phone in your bid on a $200M contract."

I stumbled across the "free rounds through new 19X" promo at Point Blank Greenwood. Free rounds through new GLOCK? Of COURSE I said yes.

I liked it. Got all my rounds on 8.5x11 at 7 yards-- no mean feat for my poor skills and low round counts. I haven't shot 9mm in nearly a year.

Trigger is the best stock Glock trigger I can remember, better than my G22G4 was and my G20G3 was.

So perhaps there are some internal refinements to the pistol. I like it.

But there's no reason to think it would be appreciably better than a G17. I loved the slide finish, totally dig it.

But I ask always: what, exactly, is the point of this model?

The only answer that makes sense is to help Glock fanboys add another to thier Bag O Glocks (tm). There is literally nothing this pistol excels at over another Glock model.

I'll take a G17G5 in that awesome FDE finish, please.

    What holster is that TT?
Safariland 6354DO-2832, this one has the RMR cut.
I have the fast attachments on it and the belt and a chest rig so I can quickly swap the holster from one to the other if I want. On another battle belt I have a safariland with the same fast system but it's for a glock 17 or 34 with a light

They wouldn't give me my 5 free rounds... and I had to remind them to give me a range pass.

Got to the outdoor range today and put the first 150 rounds through my G19X...a mix of Winchester white Box, AE Syntech, Federal HST in 124gr+P and 147gr. No problems at all.

I was able to do controlled double taps like I knew what I was doing. I've always struggled doing that with other pistols.
    Short version...me likey. :rockwoot:

I was about to order one from RK Guns (with 12% store card rebate) but called my local Rural King and found they had one that hadn't even made it to the display case so I picked it up.

Grabagun has them online as well.

No way dude. I've read in so many places that the 19X makes no sense, serves no purpose, offers no advantages and is just something for the fan boys to latch on to. You must just be confused or something.

I was hoping to find stores in Indiana that had them on the shelf. So far Bass Pro is the only one.

i found the same with double and triple taps. Probably one of the easiest shooting pistols I’ve shot.

In a different light here.... Knowing how our military uses the decision making process then I'll have to side with Glock on a firearm design.
Set requirements should be met but who decides what the Military's requirements should be is the area in which I question.
