Yep, this is why police have to guard neighborhoods where tornados roll through. Its not to protect people from being hurt really it's because of scum bag looters, thieves that wish to profit off the misfortune of others. People who pick up cash in the middle of a cash tornado KNOWING it doesn't belong to them and yet they act like they are on a game show. Like they are owed something for nothing

An armored car full of coins rolled on an elevated roadway in a less desirable part of Miami several years ago, it was entertaining watching the video of the locals scooping up handfuls of coins and stuffing it in their pockets.

POS #1. "How much did you get man?"

POS #2. "I got $32.75, how much did you get?"

I found a $5 bill out along the road once while jogging. I guess I am lucky I didn't get busted by the man.

I found a 20$ by our mailbox one day, a few yrs back. Stuck in the ol' pocket with the thought my wife dropped it while getting the mail.

The next day she says " why did the mailman put a bag of dog poop on our porch last night and light it on fire?" I said "I don't know dear, but ill use this 20 bucks to get ya a new pair of rubber boots in case he does it again".

Guess we know who's 20$ it was.

With no one in the back of the truck, it almost makes you wonder if the driver handed one big bag of cash off to a friend and scattered the other along the roadway to cover the theft. Just sayin . . . . . . . . . .

I once found a few hundred dollars on the ground in front of a bank tellers window. I told the bank teller that I had found money (but I did not tell her the amount), and gave her my name and number. I explained that if her drawer was short, OR a customer inquired abound lost Money thst she could call me and I would bring it back. Otherwise, I was going to keep it. I stopped back a few weeks later and she said that her drawer did indeed balance, and nobody had inquired about lost money. I asked her what the bank would have done with the money had I turned it in, and she said that it would have gone into their "party fund". So, I am glad I kept it and added it to MY party fund.

Depending where that money was coming from or going to they may have the serials noted. If I had any of that cash I would be breaking it into smaller bills.

This is not the first time I have heard of this kind of thing happening. Whenever I see an armored car on the road, I might slow down and follow it for a few blocks just in case the door swings open. So far, I am 0 for 100 at least... I wouldn't mind picking up a bag of $100 bill bundles. I would give them back... well, most of them at least... :)

On another note, A lot of people dont know that it's a felony to take money that isnt yours in a casino even if you just find it laying on the ground. And they know who everyone is. So if you ever find cash or one of the claim tickets, DO NOT cash it in or keep it.

Do you have a cite for that? I used to work in a casino and never heard that. There was a dealer fired for picking up a chip after hours and dropping it in a tip box, but he wasn't arrested or charged that I know of.

Funny how if someone else’s Money is on the ground and you take it that is theft. But if you get government to grab it from your neighbor and then give it to you that is wonderful

    Everybody's looking for a loophole.

"A person who knowingly or intentionally exerts unauthorized control over property of another person, with intent to deprive the other person of any part of its value or use, commits theft..."

Interesting...Doesn't that describe how we're taxed on everything we own, earn or purchase? :dunno:

I dont. But I was told that by the guy who will put the cuffs on you for doing it so I think its true

The fact it's in a casino is irrelevant. Until recently any theft in Indiana was a felony. Now, it can be a misdemeanor or a felony. So, yes you can be arrested, and depending on when you were told that it was always a felony, but it's not because it's in a casino.

Not saying you are wrong, but I was told several years ago by an ignorant Westfield PD patrolman that it is illegal for your printed LTCH to not match your home address, and If he discovered a mismatch I was going to jail that day for carrying without a valid license.

So just because they enforce the law doesnt mean they fully comprehend it.

    Just sayin'

I'm just repeating what I was told by an officer with the state gambling commission or whatever they call it. I believe they are with the state police. Yeah I totaly agree not all info coming from cops or other government sources can be taken as fact but since he told me he has arrested people for it, I hope he wasnt lying. Either way I do not know the man so I cannot vouch for him. Could have totaly been blowing smoke up my and I wouldn't be the wiser. Not even my stomping grounds I just find weird conversations Interesting

They *used* to be troopers, but since about '05 or so they've been an independent department. Again, it *is* theft and you can be arrested, but not because it's a casino, it's because it's theft. Not sure a jury would buy into it, but letter of the law it's theft, anyway.

theft taking the cash voucher you find on the floor or theft also of taking a $20 bill you find on the floor?
I was led to believe that both were illegal because it was in a casino. However I dont see how picking up a random loose bill or even a few rolled up Bill's laying on the ground out in public and sticking them in your pocket would be theft.
I'm talking walking down the street and not inside an event or theme park or something where it could be turned in.
I'm asking for clarification because you know, not trying to argue or act like I do because I dont.
If I'm somewhere that I can attempt to locate an owner or turn it in I will. I'd want someone to do the same for me.
