You mis-remember. Bill Clinton was not President during Ruby Ridge.

Ruby Ridge was August of 1992, George Herbert Walker Bush was President.

I was told by an uppity Libertarian yesterday on the Facebooks that the "Republicans are just as violent as the Democrats. Just look at Gulf Wars 1 and 2."

Those were funky times to be a gun owner......I remember my dad looking at Randy Weaver's "arsenal" they were showing on TV after the arrest and him looking at me and saying, "Lord son if that's an "arsenal" I don't know what you would call what we have....."

NEW YORK (AP) — Federal authorities have charged a New York man with building a 200-pound (90-kilogram) bomb they say he planned to detonate on Election Day on the National Mall in Washington.

Paul Rosenfeld, 56, of Tappan, was charged Wednesday with unlawfully manufacturing a destructive device and interstate transportation and receipt of an explosive.

Prosecutors said he planned to use the bomb to kill himself and draw attention to a political system called sortition, in which public officials are chosen randomly rather than elected.

I used to listen to G. Gordon Liddy on the radio back then.

...if you think the rhetoric is violent now......

Well that's true for the bush family. The bush family are most certainly RINOs, and ABSOLUTELY not conservative.

Republicans have ended more wars than they have entered, prior to the bush family.

This guy at Marvel made some pretty violent comments. I'll link those below.

    He's been fired.

Attacking your customers and threatening to feed them your “**** covered boot” are probably the actions of a social terrorist.

    The appropriate steps were taken.

People are tweeting he was fired because of his liberal stance. No, it was for threatening physical violence.

Here are images of the tweets he made, not embedded due to language:

ETA: this is regarding the Marvel SW dude.

Credit to him for "fie." Don't see that anymore.

    But... uh... where's the violence?

I mean, he threw around the f-bomb. (Not "fie" - the other f-bomb.) And he was trying very hard to be insulting, but I didn't see a "burn baby burn" kind of threat.

Calling conservatives "bullies" that don't want people to fight back isn't exactly "tree of liberty" material.

Ah I really didn't read through the thread before jumping in. Are we only looking for actual physical incidents?

I was just including outbursts and comments that include threats of violence.

    How do you interpret?:

"Winter is coming" = winter has long been referred to as a season of death.

"Eat a boot" = kick your teeth in, boots typically have feet in them. If not the "eat ****" would have been enough.

Also, sucks for him because he is tarnishing the brand (Marvel). I would have to think they would not want to alienate half of their payday.
