When Rush said "I hope he fails." He explained that it was Mr. Obama's philosophy and policies that he hoped would fail to take hold.

In the case of Mr. Trump it is him personally that they want impeached, tried, convicted, imprisoned, raped and killed.

And not necessarily in that order.

I know. The whole "wanting the president to fail means wanting the country to fail" mantra was dumb then (and now), but I'm not above using it against the left.

...and they want any policy vaguely non-leftist to fail too, not just Trump personally.

Odd are, and obviously this is my opinion, you are one of the Trumpers that is reluctant to admit it. One of those people that want others to think they are unbiased, when they actually are quite biased in favor of Mr. Trump.

So the answer the question. Yep.

Heh. You are entertaining, I’ll give you that.

    No one is unbiased.

And maybe you’re right. Maybe the brouhaha over Trump’s emergency order to build the wall was just to throw you off the trail of my secret Trumperholism. Maybe I randomly decide to support or condemn Trump just for you. Maybe I value your opinion of me so much that I **** a bunch of Trumpers off when I talk about tribalism, just so uou wouldn’t think Imma Trumper.

Or. Maybe I’m not irrationally critical. Maybe I’m not irrationally supportive. Maybe I’m just selectively supportive of the things that seem most true to me.

It's not so much that I'm supportive of Trump in all of this bruhaha (which I am) it's that I'm more against the political opposition machine that stacked the cards against him to try and take down his campaign first and then his duly elected Presidency.

Including the politicization by a whole host of those in government agency positions that should be apolitical of which decided to jump into the fray because of their unbridled hatred for the man that beat HRC out of her rightful position that they helped pave the way for.

I voted for Trump specifically because I though he was an a-hole. After Obama's "apology tour" to the entire world, I truly believed we needed someone that was capable of being an a-hole, and I have not been disappointed. Reducing regulation, renegotiation of trade deals, getting out of the Iran deal, all of those things were things I was in favor of and he has delivered. Has he been perfect? No. I never said I wanted a perfect a-hole though. All of this stuff coming from the left before and since his election has been, as you stated, a temper tantrum because HRC didn't get elected. Doggone it! They got the first black president elected! (Unless you count Bill C.) They should've gotten the first woman president elected!

Well, as it turned out, people weren't interested in "firsts". They wanted someone that would take the reins and move the country forward, and I think that's what he's done.

And for the record, I voted for Obama in 2008, but not in 2012. I was ready for "change" and boy did I get it... it just didn't turn out to be the change that was promised. I didn't make that same mistake in 2012, and I sure as hell didn't make it in 2016, and I won't make it again in 2020. Over all, I'm happy with the job Trump has been doing. Congress on the other hand could use some improvement.

Remember when you were in school and there was a kid in class that could work the teacher and derail the discussion of whatever you were supposed to be learning and hear stories of how groovy Woodstock was.

Well, that is what it is like here.

Misdirection and diversion is the watchword of the losers.

I (and a buddy of mine) were "those kids", at least in chemistry class. But it wasn't about Woodstock. It was back when you could buy everything you needed to make gunpowder at the local Hook's Drugstore (salt peter, sulphur and powdered charcoal - which btw could be substituted with plain old sugar) and we were trying to glean information on how to make it more explosive. Most of our "experiments" turned out to be just massive smoke bombs. We needed an oxidizing agent and he wouldn't give it up. :):

Okay. I’ve kinda warmed up to the label, “selective tribalism” in acknowledgement that humans are at least a little groupish.

That’s pretty much where I’m at with it. I voted for Trump because that was the alternative outcome compared with more leftist bull****. If Ted Cruz primaried Trump in 2020 (not gonna happen) I’d vote for Cruz just like I did in the 2016 primary.

I think I’d like Ttump more, and possibly support him if he were less authoritarian, less *******, and had a better command of language so that he’d be able to speak without saying something stupid. Like the awkward wording of the mars/moon thing. Oh. And maybe not **** porn stars while his wife is pregnant with his son.
