Just looking for a strong-enough distraction to put all of this behind us again.

A good politician scandal would do it. Someone high profile.

Or a medium-intensity military engagement. Several contenders for that.

Ya know I remember hearing very similar about bump stocks when Trump made his initial statement about them...

And that statement applies to bump stocks, as well. That Trump encouraged the administrative state to act in an unconstitutional manner is not the same thing as legislation being passed and signed into law.

If Trump said "I want to ban assault weapons with 100 round clips" today, would we be allowed to post about that here?

Or would the usuals come out and say, "Yeah, but he hasn't banned them yet!"

Or, "Its impossible to read his mind to know whether that's what he REALLY wants. Because 4d chess."

Actually, I thought we all were allowed to post our opinions (ideally knowing the difference between that and a fact) subject only to the limitations established by TexKev and the mods. If some people need permission to post, in the form of no pushback on the ideas they wish to promote, to feel comfortable; perhaps they need to keep their environment below 32° F

I certainly don't like the flip manner in which he says things like this. However I must point out that some peeps will argue out of one side that Trump lies and doesn't mean things he says (when those things are thought of positively but difficult to accomplish) but every word must be believed and held as iron clad evidence of eventual intent when it can be used to criticize the man. There is no possibility he is trying to control the narrative because, of course, according to them he is still reckless and stupid

It is off topic, but did you think Trump didn't mean what he said when he indicated the Chinese have to change how they conduct business or face more tariffs? I was short in stocks going into last week, how 'bout you? It just seems like I shouldn't want to have it both ways, but neither should you. Thinking the man is too stupid to pursue his objectives and subject to only emotional whims is just your opinion (which has no greater validity than mine)

I'm thinking that the ATF will be asked by their boss to take another look at pistol "brace" rulings. Oh, and 100 round drum magazines.

That's what I've been thinking too. I'm wondering if soon 30 rounders will be our cap....if we're lucky

Trump was the only pick for us to make in 2016. He will be the only one for us to make in 2020.

Some of you all can just keep fussing waaa, but truth remains that we still need to get the president and "pro 2A" republicans educated on the why's and how's. They make the uneducated decisions because they don't know any better.

Nevertrump whining ain't getting anything done, other than maybe pushing the naive to vote for our true enemies.

I bought a 75 round drum mag for my AK. I took it to the range exactly once. Doubt that I'll ever use it again. That thing was such a major pain in the ass to load it just isn't worth it. I don't know if the AR drum mags are any easier or not.

No, no, beedub. Evan McMullin or Bill Weld will run the table in the primaries and be elected in the general. They'll stave off those horrible Democrats (and probably legalize weed, too :yesway:) and be presidential to boot (and that's important)
