I remember back before he ran for President years ago, when he was running his business, he had financial set backs, law suits against him for not having his properties open to section 8 and other problems.

The media ran with whatever accusations were put forward. They treated him pretty badly, but fell back on their immunity. He was of the opinion (as am I) that the media should have more responsibly to not jade the truth.

He only became the media darling when he was perceived as a clown that they could get the nomination and Hillary would easily dispatch the buffoon.

Trump has more backbone than any Republican president or presidential nominee in my life time. He fights back, and when he's not fighting back he's on the offensive, on all fronts. I cannot imagine any other Republican (Ted Cruz maybe, if he ever got to be Prez) standing behind Kavanaugh and Gorsuch, or standing up that the bull**** "collusion" story, the way Trump has.

    Oh.

Blackout: ABC, NBC Ignore Pro-Kavanaugh Bombshell; CBS Gives Scant 36 Seconds

The 36 seconds on CBS was by Jan Crawford on CBS evening news:

CRAWFORD: Speaking publicly for the first time, to The Times reporters, Ford's close friend Leland Keyser, who Ford said was at the party, said she didn't believe Ford's account and that it “just didn't make any sense.” She also said she told the FBI that Ford's allies pressured her to say otherwise. Now, all four people that Ford identified as being at that high school party in the summer of 1982 have now said no such party occurred.

Newsbusters report that there was no mention of her report on CBS morning news the next day, and she was replaced on the "Kavanaugh beat" by another reporter.

Somebody without TDS please rep him for me.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Alamo again.

Absolutely true. I watched ABC Monday night, and I had to watch for the tiny little blurb where they stated the allegation had not been confirmed. (in other words, they broadcast a lie)

I REALLY hope Justice Kavenaugh can sure for libel.

Pretty much. In typical fashion they make a heart wrenching story of it, and at the end they kinda mention it's not been confirmed. They know people are eager to believe it's true.

And yet, when Trump says he'd like to loosen up libel standards, he is more literally Hitler than usual

He has a reputation for suing people. And he is kinda oversensitive to criticism, deserved or not. And the "not" part is quite understandable. Trump has been scrutinized and lied about more than any modern president. But you have to admit that he does kinda make criticizing him easier by how he reacts to it. I think flipping the "fake news" bit on them was helpful to both sides. It helped Trump solidify his base, and it helped the other side solidify theirs.

That's not to say that something is not necessary to change in the rules making journalists more accountable. I'm not saying laws, per se. But I don't know what rule changes should look like. It's certain that society can't handle what's happening now, at least short term. It's tearing the nation apart.

No. He is just a self-centered bully that wants the law to allow him to sue people that say stuff he doesn't like.

Fact check: true. But what that doesn't encapsulate is the part that Trump has right, that the media is getting away with lying about him. And they really don't need to. There is plenty of truth that might be of interest to report. It seems like the way it works now, the bosses at the news networks are trying to compete against social media for views, and the only way they can do that is by click-baity type reporting. So they hire ideologues and set them loose.

This is a point I've made to people with TDS to help explain why so many people like him. People on the right are used to republicans who think that if they fight back, they're somehow confirming the accusation. "I'll not dignify that with an answer" doesn't really mean to people what they think it means. When I hear that, I hear is, you're too chicken**** to fight off the nonsense. That is one thing that's appealing about Trump. He doesn't take ****.

However, sometimes he comes off as extremely petty. Like insisting that his hands are "big". Insisting that his inauguration crowds were bigger than Obama's. Just petty bull****. Yes. Stick up for yourself against nonsense attacks. But at least don't make a big deal of things when they're right, when the criticism is warranted.

Similar situation here, can you spot the bully.

Hint it is the white guy.

I think you meant to say "It is the drunk guy." Minneapolis offical said no hate crime ocurred because the gang was attacking because the victims were drunk, not because they were white. Having watched 2 of the attacks I have to say that they REALLY hate drunks in Minneapolis. That was some extreme level of violence.
