I thought that too and then I remember seeing an interview with Jimmie on how bad they would fight with each other. So I am not sure if they split them up to "shake things up" or because they were not getting along.

Ah, I haven’t heard that. That I could at least understand. I was thinking since chad was with a young driver and Jimmie a young chief they were trying to get the young guys experienced people to work with... but I’d rather let the young guys grow together and give them a 15 to 20 year career together. Imagine if Gordon never lost everham what they could’ve accomplished. I feel the Chad and Jimmie situation is similar

This years Brickyard had more fans than Darlington. The facility is just so big its hard to tell. They sold over 60,000 tickets this year which I don't think is too bad. I wish they would do something about the price though especially for kids.

60k tickets is horrible in my opinion. I went to the first 10 races a the Brickyard and was over 250k tickets sold. I believe some years was upwards of 300k

That is an embarrassment for the Brick yard. If you lived where we do you would know the impact that race and the 500 has on the area. This year the traffic was NADA. Zipp. Nothing. Friday rush hour is busier. The pics of fans in the stands was just terrible.

The race came and went with zero impact on the area. We could not even tell it was here. Total non-event.
A few years back before the great tire screw up there would be a solid sea of cars parked in the yards all the way north to 38th street and beyond. A solid sea of fans on the sidewalks heading into the event. If that was a 60K crowd I am rip freaking van winkle.....:):

I think 60,000 isnt too bad for one of the most boring race yracks for the cup series. I only go because it's close and i love the sport. Kentucky has better views from the seats, better racing, and is cheaper. So if it comes down to me only going to o e eace a year I'd choose kentucky hands down. I have a feeling others feel this way too.

No knock on your choice of venues sir. None at all. I am just pissed at NASCAR for drilling this race in the backside and ruining it.

I love IMS for the 500. I follow Indycar just as much asNascar. I watch practice, qualifying, and every race for both. I just think Indy doesnt work well for Nascar.

    .
    Screw NASCAR.
We need to start a new group and get back to the basics. Doing this will also convince all the car makers to build better badass production vehicles again. Of course this is all after we lose all those stupid auto regulations that have been hampering anyone to actually build a decent vehicle for years. And no more plastic.

You have no idea how deep my roots are at the Speedway. And I agree this series is not a good fit. But it used to be easier to stomach.
