Why train them at all? When you buy a new car, does the dealership insist on training you on how to drive it? Let them figure it out on their own.

Your analogy does not work. I'm not even going to try to point out why because its so obvious.

Narrative gonna narrative. The mass media hath dubbed Islam a protected class, therefore you're only allowed to blame the NRA and any other takes are censored.

Um, okay. :dunno: You'll make someone a fine wife someday. :):

You really haven't a clue, do you. First your comment about car dealers is inaccurate. Have you bought a new or used car from a dealer. I've never known one not to train the new owner on the features, controls and electronic systems of the vehicle. Think about extrapolating that to the technological wonder of a modern aircraft.

    Just hand them the keys?
    I'm OK with that.

I don't really have a dog in this fight but I bought a '17 Sierra early last year from the GMC dealer and we're still trying to figure out how to get those little clearance lights on the outside mirrors to come on. No. There was no tutorial about the systems. The onstar people finally blocked us because we were somehow constantly dialing them.

I really hate all the technological crap they're ramming down our throats nowadays.

Nope, I've never had a dealer do that, but then again I've only bought one new vehicle. But pointing out what the buttons and knobs do isn't quite the same as putting you through months of training on how to drive it.

DD, you want to believe you're right. OK. Go ahead and do that.

I think it's more interesting that of the Muslim world, the president has chosen to give Saudi Arabia special status. The other day, when he was talking about the event, he seemed like the PR guy for the monarchy.
I don't know about anyone else, but after this event, I would have confined all Saudi military personnel to quarters, pending an investigation, and afterwards sent them packing. Rather than talk about how badly the poor sheik felt or how he's going to compensate the families, I would want the president to get legitimate answers about their vetting process and get them to open an investigation. I just don't understand why we've been coddling a nation/people that has a long history of sticking it to us. Emb

    You confuse me sometimes.

“Trump is unhinged and says mean offensive things”

“Trump was too nice and sounds like their PR guy”

I doubt you had the same issue when Obama refused to say things like Islamic extremists, or call people terrorist.

There were a lot of people that felt/feel that way post 9/11, yet if they voice those opinions they're called "islamophobes" and worse.

It's not just Trump. We've been between a rock (Iraq!) and a hard place on Saudi Arabia for decades. I don't think any president of either party actually likes those tribal jerkoffs, but like it or not we're dependent on them.

They buy tens of billions of dollars worth of American weapons, equipment, and other products. We no longer depend on them for oil in the way we used to, however the global oil market can be destabilized by them. We need their airspace, bases, and logistics to support our extensive and seemingly eternal operations in the Middle East. We need our flank secured in Iraq and while operating in the Gulf.

It's a "devil you know" problem. The Saudis suck, the problem is all the alternatives to their regime are worse. We can't cut them loose until we are off oil and have ceased operations in the Middle East.
