Feed your head......
Yeah, the song was the inspiration for the movie title (and probably the plot too). Movie came out in 1973, so yeah, that's about right for late middle school/early high school viewing.
Feed your head......
Im confused, are we are all arguing against prohibition now?

Honestly that’s the biggest thing I see, the government has done droves of harm to us subjects, I mean citizens in the name of “the common good” they did their own studies on opiates in medicine, didn’t listen to their own scientists, but listened to those cranking out drugs like oxy, now that they want to crack down on the legal (presumably cleaner and more consistent, not laced, tainted or mixed/cut diced, whatever) product people turn to the black market. Remember those vaping deaths? Traced back to black market THC carts from China.I can only speak for myself, but I think the point is that "the war on drugs" has enabled or encouraged the people that want to supply the people that want to do this stuff to get "creative" with their chemistry. Look at the "opiate crisis". Did you notice that OD's on heroin laced with fentanyl started spiking at about the same time they cracked down on the prescription of opiates? Funny how that works. Were the people on prescription drugs any less addicted? No. Were they taking a safer, more consistent version? Yes.
Pot is on it's way to being legal.
Everything else will follow.
Lets get this on the federal ballot for 2020. We can end this argument and proceed to get stoned.
I have great appreciation and respect for officers like you. Other officers who are members here that i know I feel the same about.Hmmm, let’s see now. I guess I’d have to say thousands of times over the course of almost 20 years. Strangely I made it through with zero complaints or lawsuits filed against me. Maybe I squandered the opportunity to control others rather than protecting their freedoms. Sorry to disappoint.
Hell, back in the day "methamphetamine" was a legit pharmaceutical. Those of you of a certain age may remember having to watch a film called "Go Ask Alice" in school. I seem to remember a scene about a guy that had jumped out a window or something (while doing "meth") and upon hearing the news, one of his friends says something to the effect of "Johnny can't handle meth!"
Man... I think I'm having a flashback...

there’s been talks of people dying over a dimebag in this thread; you gotta ask yourself why, maybe because it’s an illegal product, and as such neither buyer nor seller has a chance to go to LEO or the BBB if things go down the wrong way.
There is another lesson you could draw from opioids. The progression of Opium > Laudanum > Morphine > Heroin > Codeine and finally the opioids (not direct extracts of opium, chemically designed to bind to opioid receptor sites) were all attempts by the science of the day to preserve the beneficial effects of opium but eliminate the addictive properties. It took many years (and many lives) to realize the beneficial effects and the addictive effects were the same thing. All psychoactive chemicals are psychoactive because they bond to receptor sites already existing in the body for signaling by some endogenous pathway. Psychoactive chemicals exist in nature because plants develop them as poisons to discourage insects and animals from feeding on them, not because we are somehow meant to take drugs
Go back a little further, to The Stones singing about 'Mother's Little Helper' and women taking 'diet pills' to lose weight or to balance out the MLHs. Funny how using drugs to cope with everyday life always seems to lead to the same rabbit hole, and one decade's 'perfectly safe' chemical intervention turns out to be a nightmare
Not sure methylamphetamine was used all that much as a pharmaceutical in the US, dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) and levoamphetamine or a combination of both (Benzedrine) were more common. The current Adderall is similar to Biphetamine, which you mentioned
Desoxyn. Literal methamphemine. Indicated for treatment of ADHD. What I see on the Internet leads me to believe it is a drug of last resort for treating physicians but, although I can't find actual prescribing numbers, the Internet articles I ran across seemed to indicate there is more of it around now compared to a few years ago.

In marijuana, the seed is embedded in the flower of the plant. The flower of the plant is where the THC is concentrated. The seed is robust enough to pass through a bird or mammal's digestive tract undamaged, while the flower is soft and sticky, lending itself to be swallowed whole - seeds and all. The survival strategy of the plant isn't built on deterrence, it is built on attraction...the plant uses a mammal's desire to feel its intoxicating effects as an opportunity to spread their genes to new territories.
Some bears have been shown to seek out fermented berries, dolphins seek out pufferfish for a high...this behavior is wired deeply in our animal heritage.
