I wouldn't vote for Bernie nor Warren, and AOC seems to be wanting to create an entire new party of her own. So yeah, I agree the face of the Democrat party is changing; but the face of the Republican Party has changed. No longer is it the party of family values, morality, fiscal conservatism, combating the spread of evil regimes. It is now the party that shows felty to an immoral spender who admires, covets, and defends the tyrannical power of most of America's traditional enemies. In another time, Republicans could rightfully point to the "other" party, and rightfully assign those traits solely to them; now, they are just as bad.
Traditional enemies? I don't know that any nation could be considered a traditional enemy.

We had 50 years opposing the USSR. Russia is not in the same category of opposition that their predecessor was. 50 or even 70 years does not make much of a tradition.

China, NK, and Iran have been more adversarial in recent history. I would not say he has defended any of them.

Leaving out the changes AOC would like the parties have swapped several voting blocks as we discussed in this thread.

Notable changes are global business and high educated are firmly democrat. Blue collar workers, particularly private sector union are now republican. Which of those do most black families have more in common with? Particularly with their common interests in religion...

Why, exactly, do you think at least 20% of the black community won’t vote for trump? What has he done that directly targeted blacks to make them not want to vote for him?

    Lowered the black community's unemployment.

    That's.... bad(?) for some reason.

Actually, I can't think of a single thing Trump has done that's counter to the black population. He seems to go out of his way to show what good he's done for them.

As an aside - I'm slightly pissed that I felt I had to backspace a few times here and re-word my sentences, else be accused of something. I'm still looking at that "them" and wondering...

EVERYBODY knows that Sheila Jackson Lee and every Democrat says that any person of color who votes Republican is an Uncle Tom.

Lyndon Johnson bragged, "Give them a little...not enough to make a difference, just a little. i'll have those ******* voting Democrat for the next 200 years."

    It seems to be working.

Trump has a lot more of the black vote than will be ever known.

Sure, there are a LOT of noisy race-baiters out there, a lot who "would never..."

"Black voters" are just voters like everyone else, especially if you don't count anyone collecting a check from the government, for any reason. :twocents:

Trump supporters have learned to keep their opinion to themselves for fear of being subject to dumbass reprisal from those with nothing to lose. Black or white doesn't matter, we are the same.

There is a reason that the voting booth is private.

Directly targeted? I'm thinking more about rhetoric. A rhetoric used to exploit the biases of some of those in his base

And anybody that votes Democrat can't "escape the plantation." So I guess both parties simply don't want any black person to vote. :dunno:

So did Obama. The difference is that Obama reversed a rising trend. Trump, went into office when employment was already trending downward. And I'd be interested in hearing what other "good," (besides taking over a already trending lower unemployment rate) Trump has done for Black Americans, that should make them look favorably upon him.

Everyone bragged on his criminal justice reform. Apparently he let a bunch out of prison. I am sure they appreciated it.

This would assume that the criminal justice system treats Black Americans unfairly. Is that what you are saying? And if you believe that the criminal justice system treats everyone the same, then why should someone be appreciative of reforms, anymore than anyone else?

I am not saying anything. Reading my note again, everyone (the people on TV) was saying this would be very beneficial for black folk because they are (according to them) incarcerated at higher rates for the non violent drug crimes than whites. I supposed you could argue that the system treats them differently, or perhaps you could argue that they actually use drugs at a higher rate.

Why do you assume that every black person has TDS, and interprets or believes the press the same as you? For example, those ARE ****hole countries. Admitting the truth of that has nothing to do with race. Denying it is just either from ignorance or delusion. I disagree with not accepting any immigrants from there; they’re not all responsible for their country being a ****hole. So I’m fine with having high standards and taking in anyone who meets them, regardless of how ****ty their home country is.

Many like that. Mexicans: you didn’t correctly discern the meaning. Very fine people on both sides: you didn’t correctly discern the meaning. Even after it was revealed to you the media’s manipulation of the full context of those, you still want to believe the worst understanding of it.
