I stopped into the Noblesville store today for the first time. I was specifically looking for a pair of Khakis or Chinos for work. I already have 3 different types of the Fireshose pants, but I need something a little more business casual without all of the cargo pockets.

They had a decent selection of pants, but didn't have any chinos in store. I tried the khakis and they weren't anything special.

The associates working in the store were very friendly and helpful, asking me several times if I needed anything. One of the sales guys pointed me toward the Foreman Flex plants which I really liked. The first pair was just a little long, and I mentioned it to him and he went in the back and found me a pair we with a smaller inseam which fit perfectly.

They are running a sale right now if you spend $100 you get 30% off your total order. The pants were $65 (salty, I know) but I grabbed a pair of thermals to get me over $100 with tax.

After the discount I spent just under $75. Not bad.

I had to control myself as they have some pretty decent bags in stock (laptop, carry on, duffels, etc.) I am a bag slut, so I was tempted, but managed to resist the urge to get another bag I don't need.

Overall it was a good experience. I will be back.

Digging this thread up from the dead, as the Noblesville store has a pretty killer clearance sale going on now. 30% off all clearance items with an additional 50% off all outer wear. That includes jackets, hoodies, fleeces, hats, gloves, coats, etc.

I've been looking to try something from their Alaskan Hardgear line and snagged a water resistant Prudhoe Bay hoodie for about $48 tax included. This normally sells for $140.

I almost walked out with the Deadhorse hooded jacket too. Normally $260, marked down to about $75, but it seemed like it would have been overkill. It had so much insulation I was sweating just trying it on in the store.

Shyte! I JUST drove past there today, and didn’t feel like stopping. I’ve been wanting a Deadhorse hoodie for a minute, just wasn’t going to pay the premium. Guess I’ll head back in the morning.

Went to exchange my worn down pants today. They changed their no bull guarantee. They now only exchange for defective after one year. Now I have to exchange my pants every year instead of when they wear out. Not too pleased with this.

The point was never to have a return policy of buy one pair of pants and get new replacement pants for life.

If enough people were trying to return clothes they'd worn out of the course of several years then no **** they're going to change the policy.

Life is so unfair. That sounds like a horrible company. How much did you pay for this pair of pants that you expected to essentially last the rest of your life? Do you expect every piece of clothing to last you forever? I hope they were not your only pair of pants.

Photo of another Duluth customer upset that his pants would not be replaced for free after years of wear now refuses to wear pants.

This was my thought also when reading that.

I can't see how that original business plan could work long term. The current one still sounds better than most places.

Bless your heart. I just thought when they promised that they would exchange the pants, no matter what, they meant it. I wouldn't have gotten them otherwise as they do cost $60. I figured the exchanges were built into the cost. I now know that they do not plan on keeping their word.

The question is whether Duluth had a bad business plan related to their highly advertised warranty or whether they have slacked in quality of their product to continue it?

It's kinda like the PIA rebates that we hate. If everyone actually done the rebate, the companies could not afford to offer such deals. Duluth is counting on people to not take them up on their No Bull Guarantee.

I don't own anything from Duluth but if you're wearing them anything like most people wear Wranglers: Accept that you're kinda fat and go up a size or three.

I think this is it. I think as they expanded rapidly, they realized that they couldn't keep up with their guarantee. Especially as they rapidly expanded their line. When they were primarily an online/catalog retailer, they didn't have as big of a reach as they used to have and the effort to return products involved a large amount of effort (sending it in and waiting). Now that they expanded their retail space so rapidly and built so many stores, they can't keep up with the volume of exchanges.

They specifically stated in their new policy that they no longer cover ordinary wear and tear. That they are specific about it means that they knew their original policy covered it.

To go along with that is their large brick and mortar expansion has made it easier to take advantage of the No Bull Guarantee. It's inconvenient and more costly to send your worn out clothing back in for replacement vs running them to the store in the area.

Hence my lazy reasoning behind four pairs of firehose work pants to return, still sitting here. :xmad:

I bought 2 pair of their "Buck Naked" briefs just to try them out since apparently a lot of people like them. I've worn one pair ONCE. The other pair is unworn. I fully expect them to last forever, because I won't be wearing them. Most uncomfortable underwear I've ever had.
