I remember someone commenting in 2016 that the D's have no bench. I think we're seeing the results of that now.

:tinfoil: is the goal a brokered convention and the nominee will not have spent a dime? On campaigning anyway?

The new standard now is if you're not a socialist you're a moderate.
That’s actually accurate. The left has stretched so far left that the geometric mean is somewhere between socialism on the left and small government, low taxes on the right. If you’re a capitalist, you’re at least moderate. And that’s not to say in all things. There is a whole spectrum of issues that can make one right, left, or moderate.

Gun control, for example. The moderate view is that there still could be room for background check reform, maybe red flag laws, but mostly, we have all the gun control in place other than that. The left wing view is that a lot more can be done. Maybe ban the sale of the scarier guns. Raise the age limits. Require registration. There’s a left wing extremist view. Ban guns and punish gun owners. The right wing view, of course, is that we have too many gun laws. The extremist right wing view is that everyone should be able to own everything without any restrictions.

Point is, what is considered a moderate view is different from what it was 10 years ago.

Think about this. Beto has a loyal group of nut bags that would still vote for him. If Dippy Joe will put him in the loop they will vote for dippy Joe. It is actually a smart move. Building a base one small group of wacko's at a time.
The problem with that. Guilt by association. It opens Biden to criticism from Democrats who think Beto is a radical. :n00b: Wait. What am I saying? This is Democrats we’re talking about. Guilt by association only works one way.

And the latest...Trump will Dump Pence for Nikki Haley. July 16.
Okay. Probably won’t happen, but okay. I don’t hate Pence. He’s competent. Kinda. Well. I guess I’d like him better if he could learn to talk as if he’s not at the lectern preaching on Sunday. I’d like him better if he’d think for himself instead of letting his ideology think for him.

Some things I don’t like about Haley. But she’s at least a principled pragmatist after my own heart.

Nikki will win in 2028 after Trump's 3rd term is up. :rockwoot:
Wait. Isn’t there a whole gaggle of Trump’s to to get through before anyone else can ascend the throne? I mean, I don’t think Nikki can even think of running until into the 2040s.

I dunno... some of those auto parts ads are pretty annoying....
The O’Reilly autoparts jingle is REALLY annoying. But I would rather that than see bloomie preaching at me that he knows better than I do how I should live my life.

I wonder if Sanders and Warren will get together and announce that they're a ticket, in order to create some momentum to overtake Biden.

[Hey - look - an on topic post!] ;)

Huh? All the recent posts have been about the candidates.
