Stopped by the LGS today just to look around, place was packed with people mainly looking for ammo. Older guy(older then me so he is old) filing out a 4473, over heard the guy behind the counter ask him if he ment to mark that he was not buying the gun for himself and he was in this country illegally? The guy said he didn't know what he was doing, it was the first time he filled one of these out before. I did buy a 22lr barrel still in the box for a T/C contender. Score

"To allow a firearm to point at another human being is a deadly threat, and should always be treated as such."

So, how many nOObs are getting capped in gun stores for flagging employees?

I had a few this week that I would put a a finger under the barrel and lift the muzzle as someone was approaching. They learn and picked up on the concept pretty quick. New gun owners are just that, new. We were all new once. We just have to show them the proper way.

Had a few folks ask if we were taking on people for the upcoming crisis.
I asked what they had to offer. The answer from both was "not much"

I did not respond after that.

Guy I've worked with for years told me if **** went south he was coming to my house.
I asked what he was bringing, he said what do you mean?
I told him if his hands were empty, he wouldn't make it across the front yard.. he was not happy.

My friend that owns an LGS said he has had the most insane requests from new gun owners. When he asks for ID and hands the 4473 to them they have no idea what to do. Many have said what is this I am just buying a gun. They really had no idea there were checks and balances in place. A couple got mad and said this is not what I understood the process to be. Mike just responds "This is the real world friend. Not the one CNN says it is" and they really are un-educated.

More than a few freaked when refused.

Maybe he should point out to them, that they should be mad at the NEWS SOURCE for LYING to them.

I'm curious to hear more details of that statement... They wouldn't fill out a 4473 and freaked that they couldn't just buy a gun easier than fresh veggies, or they freaked when they found out their 4473s were denied?

Also... First time I bought at an FFL I didn't know WTF I was doing either, so, I can't judge them. I was glad I went to a small LGS who had the time to explain the process to me. I knew the concept, but I didn't know how tricky some of the questions could be read or what the process actually was. Right now would be a terrible time to need hand holding like I did.

The 4473 was denied as my friend will not let you out of the store with out one.

Ya know... it doesn't appear that the message of that episode is to tell your neighbors to get bent from the tone of the main character at the end. I'll also say it's been a loooong time that anything made for broadcast TV actually made me think.

So people just failed it and were shocked. Not that people refused to do it and were shocked that it existed.

I would have been a lot more impressed if they refused to do it because "muh rights!!" spontaneously also mean their 2A rights. Yeah... Join the club, cheese knob.

Oh well... Guess I'll be waiting awhile to hear that version of the story.

That's all the info I got. He needed to vent so I was available. He is considering security in the store.

We need to educate those who are new 2A supporters, get them to the range, show them the way. Putting holes in paper is powerful medicine.

That's a new one for me... Every gun store I've ever been in has salesman armed to the teeth. You'd have to have an IQ of about 47 to go into a gun store and act a fool.

I think I just answered my own question. We have some 47 IQ SOBs out there trying to buy guns and failing their NICS in large enough quantities that even a gun store isn't well enough armed...

That's how I ended up with a Henry .44 Mag Big Boy! "Accidentally" :whistle:bought a case of lead .44 mag for my Desert Eagle, realized the error of my ways and of course HAD to buy a gun I could use it in!:ugh:

Hahahaha. . . and I thought I was probably the only one who did this too. Bought 1000 rounds of Ranger 45 Plus P and found out my Shield would not like it so I bought my Glock 17. I had no choice. :):

    Colion must be reading INGO...

Na... He's way too optimistic to be reading here. All of us know exactly what's going to happen. We've just seen the birth of millions more Joe Bidens who get to tell all of us, "I own a gun, I'm in favor of 2A, but..."

I swear they won't get it even if they're ever in a gun fight and manage to save their own lives. Then we'll just have to hear about how their single shot 20ga, or Hi Point, or whatever is all anyone needs.

I have no faith that more than a few minds will be changed by this. I guess that's a start...
