I've heard it both ways, and well, that saying is also before my time. So... I winged it.
Besides, I've learned in the prepping forum that CM will always take more gas, so that just wouldn't be a plausible joke.
"Gas" just rhymes better.

I had a few this week that I would put a a finger under the barrel and lift the muzzle as someone was approaching. They learn and picked up on the concept pretty quick. New gun owners are just that, new. We were all new once. We just have to show them the proper way."To allow a firearm to point at another human being is a deadly threat, and should always be treated as such."
So, how many nOObs are getting capped in gun stores for flagging employees?
Had a few folks ask if we were taking on people for the upcoming crisis.
I asked what they had to offer. The answer from both was "not much"
I did not respond after that.
My friend that owns an LGS said he has had the most insane requests from new gun owners. When he asks for ID and hands the 4473 to them they have no idea what to do. Many have said what is this I am just buying a gun. They really had no idea there were checks and balances in place. A couple got mad and said this is not what I understood the process to be. Mike just responds "This is the real world friend. Not the one CNN says it is" and they really are un-educated.
More than a few freaked when refused.
I'm curious to hear more details of that statement... They wouldn't fill out a 4473 and freaked that they couldn't just buy a gun easier than fresh veggies, or they freaked when they found out their 4473s were denied?
Also... First time I bought at an FFL I didn't know WTF I was doing either, so, I can't judge them. I was glad I went to a small LGS who had the time to explain the process to me. I knew the concept, but I didn't know how tricky some of the questions could be read or what the process actually was. Right now would be a terrible time to need hand holding like I did.
Twilight Zone The Shelter, about how the "non-prepared" act
The 4473 was denied as my friend will not let you out of the store with out one.

So people just failed it and were shocked. Not that people refused to do it and were shocked that it existed.
I would have been a lot more impressed if they refused to do it because "muh rights!!" spontaneously also mean their 2A rights. Yeah... Join the club, cheese knob.
Oh well... Guess I'll be waiting awhile to hear that version of the story.
That's all the info I got. He needed to vent so I was available. He is considering security in the store.
That's how I ended up with a Henry .44 Mag Big Boy! "Accidentally" bought a case of lead .44 mag for my Desert Eagle, realized the error of my ways and of course HAD to buy a gun I could use it in!
We need to educate those who are new 2A supporters, get them to the range, show them the way. Putting holes in paper is powerful medicine.
This! So much this.Just because they are buying a gun doesn't mean they are 2A supporters. We even have people on here that own guns and don't support 2A.

Yes we do. And that is just nuts.
Colion must be reading INGO...
