I dont read that guy in that way. I've been completely wrong about people before but I just dont see him doing that. I think the man has high integrity and professionalism.
I hope I'm right, not to win, but because I like the guy and I don't want to have to change my opinion of him

I agree. When he chastised the media for trying to put daylight between him and Trump, I didn't get the impression it was someone who was trying to hang onto his job. It felt more like he thought playing politics was a foolish waste of time and resources

It took about a week for that to happen, and quite a few phone calls, emails, and messages.

I did not happen without effort on my part and many others.

If you want information from your state get with others and push for it.

Actively influencing what information is available to you is a good thing.

That is how you as an individual can learn more. Minnesota will also hopefully within the next week be reporting ages, comorbitities(in the cases involving death letting information about any other conditions someone had),and improve contact tracing.

You can not complain about what information you are given if you do not ask for more.

Thank you smokingman! I have not seen any other state that reports as well as ours. I should have guessed you had a hand in that.

"We are two weeks into self-isolation and it's very upsetting to see my wife
standing at the living room window gazing aimlessly into space with tears
    running down her cheeks.

It really breaks my heart to see her like this. I have thought very hard about how can I cheer her up.
I’ve even considered letting her in..."

I was thinking that we could have a thread to help each others during this time, were people could post what they need or what they can provide.

With the lockdown in place, and schools being closed, maybe you need help with babysitting.

Maybe you're stuck at home with some free time to babysit, maybe you can offer to get groceries for elderly people around you, or health care workers who are working all day with no time to go to the store.

    :dunno:

    Wanna bet?

My wife just blocked one of her facebook friends....the homeschooling mom circle is wide, but includes some, kindly, fringe types. This is what she had been ranting about:

COVID-19 is a lab created virus (us, not them) introduced in China, but with the intent to spread it across the world so that people will be clamoring for vaccinations...at the darkest hour, a vaccination will be announced (already created) which will contain nanoparticles which will allow everyone to be tracked...using 5g.

    Not kidding.

Did she have any quotes from Fox Mulder on that? Can't see how the alien shape-shifters fit in with that conspiracy

Wow, that is very creative but I'm afraid that woman doesn't have enough syrup on her pancakes.

Yeah, I thought the plan was actually have the RF emissions from your smart electric meter program you to obey after the radiation emitted by the power lines softened you up

I, for one, do not want a federal (or state) government so powerful and controlling to have the ability to respond more effectively to situations like this one. People conveniently fail to recognize/acknowledge that, in such a scenario, individual liberty would be essentially nonexistent, and exercise of individual liberty would be nothing more than a privilege granted at the whim of said, all-powerful government.

This! Reminds me of something I just read. A bit of a tangent. The woman testifying is not really an academic or an expert but she is absolutely brilliant and on point. In other, equally disruptive circumstances she clearly sees the dangers - and this is in 1937

as it becomes more prevalent people feel more confident blaming deaths on the virus because "it's obvious they have it", except many times they don't. I always question death stats in these times. how do they know immediately what the patient had?

despite massive uptick in testing our. number of positives have been flat for a few days

Seems as if this is becoming a talking point? Lots of rumors (even threads on INGO) that "we have had the virus."

Coroner: Undiagnosed local COVID-19 deaths likely

...Technically true...but to give China's number any credence is irresponsible.

Not that I believe their numbers.

But it kinda makes sense that a totalitarian regime with a dubious human rights record would be more effective in containing a virus than we are.

Our "lockdown" is basically a suggestion. Theirs wasn't.

I get that, but over 3 times the population, not being able to see it coming from half-a-world away and prepare (like we could), and the population density in the urban areas, and its been going on there for how many more weeks than here?

    Forgive me if I'm skeptical.
