I have 13 broken fence posts. It tossed my little dumpster. Broke trees around me. And tossed some trampolines around. I saw adjusters around here. I'll fix my own fence. Tornado warning sirens went off 5 or 10 minutes after, as usual.

Wow, that sucks GFGT. Power outages here (for more than a few hours) are pretty rare, but I do want to get something that will at least keep the bare minimum (refrigeration being the main concern) going. To me it's always been like a snow blower. Yeah when we get a foot of wet snow, I'd REALLY like to have one, but 99% of the time I don't need a snow blower. I don't have a lot of storage space, but I'm leaning toward at least a big (still not whole house) generator.
Yeah, storage would be a problem here too, even with a 5kw generator. Then having it ready to go, hooking it up, etc. its usually a pain while were going through it but a day or two after everything is turned back on...we forget about it for several more years.

Took power out from 9:45pm to 5:30am here. Snapped 2 trees in my yard, one smashing my truck and the other landed on my roof punching 2 holes in the ceiling. Luckily no one was hurt.
Tree service came and removed the trees from everything and will be back later to clean up the rest. Real busy right now. Guy is coming to assess the roof and do temp repairs. Took before pictures for insurance while I wait on an adjuster.

    Pike County.

Damn. Glad everyone is okay. Things can be replaced. People not so much.

Bradford Pears? If so **** CHINA AGAIN!!!!

I was expecting my Bradford Pear that's all up in the powerlines (despite my calls to IPL) to have lost some branches, but somehow it survived uharmed. Used to have 3. Mother Nature took down 1 completely, one partially (I cut most of it down but now it's branching again).

Rough winds down here storm siren went off big temp drop seems all is good in the deep indiana south.

Worst of the storm was to our north I think. We had one or two good gusts right before the rain hit then just normal t-storm winds. I was out on the back porch watching the lightning and it looked to a lot worse up around Leupold and Bristow. Our lights didn't even flicker.

I feel blessed. We lost 4 shingles worth off our mini barn. I appreciate that we only had about $30 worth of damage.

Unfortunately that's not all the damage. The Old Carnegie Library that was bought, enlarged and turned into a bank (now a BMO branch) lost it's roof, the business beside it, and the former Pat's Tavern across the street lost the facade (last pic) The first pic is he original location of Citizens Bank main branch. Several of the building east if that had the roofs ducked off and extensive water damage.

Value Market on the east side of the town had serious damage. Also @ the Old Town Park, the shelter was damaged along with the old log cabin that was used as the Boy Scouts meeting place was damaged.
My old home town took a serious hit and will take a while for recovery to be restored.

Even though I have a Plainfield Address, I only live 3 miles north of my old home in Mooresville and only 4 miles from downtown. Highest windgust I had at my house was 39mph aand about a inch of rain. I could see the barometric pressure drop as the storm was approaching and raised my spidey sense up a notch or two, along with making sire the pups was in the hallway in case we needed to dive into the hallway bathroom.
Amazingly no reports of any injuries.

These are the photos I shared in the OSUT last night...pulled them from a story on Facebook. Not my photos.

Given the butcher sales Value market has had since the panic, they can probably afford to bulldoze the place and rebuild the size of a walmart. :):

But seriously, really hoping they can get back up and going soon. A great place for meat full of awesome folks.

I didn’t realize value market shut down. I was going to go through downtown mooresville to see the damage on my way home from work today, but by the time I was done at work I was just ready to be home.

I’m not far from the middle of town. I didn’t get any damage other than a few branches that broke. It blew in really fast, and was a hell of a storm for about 10 minutes it seemed, then was done.

We were playing disc golf in Avon. Towards the end of the game we noticed a shift in the air temp. I told the gf we are in for a storm.

As we drive home to Indy we were driving into dwindling light from the clouds and lots of lightning. We got home about 5 minutes before it hit.

    Good game, good timing.

We finally got our power back on around 1:40am this morning. I got curious to see how it was going and about the time I passed the trucks, I saw some neighbors’ lights coming on. What a beautiful sight! :D I drove around the “block” and passed the REMC guys heading off to the next outage. I looked at the outage map this morning and there’s still 53 customers that are still out.

I’ve worked shutdowns and outages before (industrial) and they are long days. My hat’s off to those guys. At least I didn’t have to work outside, where the cold air was blowing like it was yesterday/last night.

Good to hear you're back up and running GFGT. Trees are the enemy of power lines and there are plenty of trees down that way. The REMC guys do have a tough job.

Yes. And there is one spot along where our circuit runs that seems to be the problem area. The last multi-hour outage we had was because of a tree in this area falling on the line.

I have known Delbert since I was 6 years old, My grandmother lived in one of the Mobile homes that was behind the store in the late 60's early 70's back when it was Jackson"s
There was roof damage, I know vents was torn off, but don't know the full extent of the building damage.

A lot of us would love to see a bigger store, but that means higher operating cost and more land, they are pretty much hemmed in, with High St to the front, Odell's and homes to the west, along with homes the south. Their only option would to buy the home and property to the east, it's a sizeable property.
