I have never had Key lime

Edward's makes a good one. I don't know if they're on sale now or not, but I usually get 2 or 3 to stick in the freezer when they go on sale at Kroger. Regular price is usually about 7.99, but sometimes you can catch them on sale for 4.99 or 5.99. Key Lime pie is awesome. Nice light dessert and very refreshing in the summertime.

Pumpkin pie is in the oven. It's always better the next day.

Just took my pie out o the oven. We are "cancelled" for Thanksgiving at this point. We will eat whatever we have in our freezer and pumpkin pie possibly without whipped cream. My wife is trying to find some but sold out so far.

At least we had one last weekend in MI. It's fine. It will be just the two of us so we don't need all the traditional fare.

I tried to make one last summer. I definitely did something wrong. It was not edible.:)

I’ll have to try and catch it after the holidays, can’t imagine I would find them now.

I've never tried to make one, but my boss at my former job used to make a really good one. I think the "key" (no pun intended) is finding the right key lime juice.

And I think that is where I screwed up. We used actual Key limes. It was so bitter! If I try one again, I will use the juice.

Sugar Cream Pie? Is this a Indiana thing? Wife loves this concoction ... urgh ... maybe it's like Pecan Pie in the South, anything with sugar is good?

The hubs is all about Sugar Cream Pie, has to have a Wick's from the grocery store because I can't bring myself to make that abomination. I've finally got him happy with a home made Blackberry Cheesecake (yes, made with fresh blackberries. The only thing that stinks this time of year is that they aren't from our land, and are store bought. :( )

And about Pecan Pie in the Midwest [STRIKE]South[/STRIKE] (FTFY) Yes, no holiday dinner is complete without a Pecan Pie. LOL, it's like the blessing before the meal...if we ain't got it then it ain't something to celebrate. My grandad used to have a tin casserole dish in his lap with a pecan cracker and a burlap bag full of what his trees had dropped in the yard. We put pecans in everything and never knew how much they cost from the store! I can't remember ever eating peanuts but loved grandpa's pecans.

I do love a good "peee can" pie. :) They're rich though, so a little goes a long way. Our nextdoor neighbors had a "hickory-can" tree when I was growing up. At least that's what they called it. Supposedly a cross between a pecan and hickory tree. I just remember that the nuts were huge. Looked like pecans though as far as I can remember (I was only 5 or 6 at the time though.)

They are huge when they first drop, have a 'husk' on them then the hard nut that you have to crack. We used to have to round them up and get the outside off of them for him, then he would take it from there... Remember him sittin' in his chair, wearing a wife beater and navy pants with work boots. He was a letter carrier back in the day when they walked their route with a heavy bag. He'd be busy cracking nuts and yelling at OU Football. What I wouldn't give to hear him fuss about feet on the coffee table. He was a good man. I've tried to bug my brothers to help me figure out a way to grow Pecans in Indiana. Grandpa used to work with Oklahoma University, they would send folks out to study how he had grafted trees to grow stronger root systems/trunks but have the preferred fruit or nut. Would love to find something hearty for Indiana and graft pecan limbs to it and see what we get. LOL, Nerd Central but it would be YUMMY!
