Yeah, I hate clickbait titles. Saw one of an assumed electrician. He showed wire nuts, Wagos, and push connectors. Each labeled with various derogatory terms indicating they were all junk and/or dangerous/fire hazards. Of course there is no other connector type, so of course it was clickbait.
They’re all junk when you are trying to sell something that’s likely more junk on your Amazon page.

Since the click bait title was about home defense, I will keep my response limited to that.
I am certainly not an expert abd don't have any of the same ninja training as the guy in the video. However, I do have a fair amount of common sense and knowledge gained from others real life experiences and training.
I'm of the opinion, there are too many variables or what if's to say something doesn't work as a defensive tool. Ammunition and optics advancements have changed the usefulness of firearms significantly as compared to 20+ years ago. I think one aspect of home defense that plays a critical role is, if your plan is to go to the bump in the night or if it's primarily to hole up in a room, call police and wait. Know your own limitations and be realistic with your plans and pick what works best for your plans.

It is what it is, sad part of today, is the people(s), that think breaking into your home or praying upon others is OK and what they do.

Clint Smith says 'pistols put holes in people, rifles put holes through people and shotguns, used correctly, rip a big hunk of **** off people and throw it on the floor'

That said, I think of my HD shotgun as more of an anti-breaching defense, which is why it is positioned near the door. If not forced to go to it first by circumstances I would certainly go for pistol or rifle in preference over it

Shotguns probably do have a good record for one shot stops, though

I think the real reason shotguns have a great track record for home defense is because they are the most commonly used by casual gun owners. Ie someone that may only have 1 or 2 guns and little training.

Now, why I think they aren't the greatest, I hate how many times I hear. "Just point in the general direction, it'll spread out and clear the entire hallway" . I'm not a shotgun guy, but this is dangerous info for those who believe it... which is a lot of folks.

Nothing beats training, common sense, and a good passive security system/deterrence. So to each their own on firearm selection. If you need it, it's already a bad situation. No matter the outcome.

    This^

At close range shotguns are very powerful, but easily obtainable. Less effective against an armored person, but even then can do a lot of damage to legs and arms.

Amen to that brother! The problem these days is everyone wants to be a Youtuber and famous, so they post controversial content in order to capture more views... A shotgun is probably one of the best home defense weapons, easy to use, scares the **** out of everyone with just the pump action, and all you have to do is point in the general vicinity and shoot.
Not sure if sarcasm, but if not, you really need to shoot at HD distances.

All I know is mine took down a guy on the roof in a red suit with one leg in my chimney

Luckily, he got airlifted out. He will recover.

Deserved it based on what I found by the tree
Yeah...that lump of coal is not fun to find!
Had couple of brothers, over the years, who earned those!

Hell, even *I* have a youtube channel. The difference? I know I dont have BS to spread so I dont.

That's why you don't make any money on it and nobody's heard of you. If your ass looks good in a thong, you can do about anything and get some views but otherwise you need to have a gimmick and controversy and anything that gets people arguing is a good one. YouTube does not reward knowledge, it rewards clicks, as we all know.
