The advertisers using the classifieds dates back to 2010, so not that new.
And I would have to do this every time I want to see New Posts when having the ability to block Classified would work easier. As far as Classified's earning revenue why am I a Site Supporter?
Because you want to support the site and think it's worth it? Two clicks or taps gets you what you want.

I think as a paid supporter I should have the ability to block the classified forum. If I want to buy something I'll go look for it. I don't need a half page of bumped adds showing every time I want to see New Posts. Can't Texkev make this happen?
Years ago I asked for a kill file (ok, I’m a fossil, killfiles were great in USENET) to help manage the feed and was told to go pound sand. So I did. Kinda like social media, when it becomes too annoying I vote with my feet and don’t participate as much or just leave.

    Alternate suggestion:

Ads by paid advertisers and ads by members who are paid site supporters should automatically be listed first in the classifieds.

Maybe just separate into used and new sections?
So everyone who lists a NIB or NIP items would have to post in the new items section? Would like new stuff get segregated also?

I'm going to recommend the 'Ignore' button if it's an issue.
I just click their name and hit ignore.

This seems like more reason for the mods to create a separate listing section and/or for paid businesses to watch how many items they post and bump at a time. I've never yet "ignored" a fellow INGOer, but i might have to if I keep seeing the same 10 brand new guns get bumped over and over in the Classies. Doesn't do a business any good to post items for sale if everyone is ignoring them.

Glad OP said something on this. I was afraid i was the only one.

Several advertisers have sold in the classifieds for years. I never viewed them negatively or different than an individual member. They add value.

    This did give me pause:

Paid or not, it is spam-like and diminishes the experience. I don't have an answer.

I like the idea of a rule requiring consolidation of ads. If PK Arms wants to list every handgun they have for sale, cool. Just list them all in one post and then keep it updated. That way they can still advertise them, but like items go in one post in the same subforum, which keeps the above flood of single item posts from cluttering up the feed. That’s how I usually manage my ads.

That is sad and disappointing. I have been a long time supporter of this site and really hope the administration reviews this and takes my suggestion seriously. Other dealers are going to follow and the classifieds will become all dealer ads. I feel there is a place for these type of ads but not in the general classifieds. They should be in the advertisers section. Please consider creating a separate section for them as suggested above.
Quitcher whinin'. They help pay the freight for your enjoyment. You scroll through crap that ain't fit to see on other sites. Scroll past the ads you don't have an interest in and get on with your day. I'd just as soon see another gunshop stay in business, thank you very much.

Really? How do you support the site? Legit question... I see "lot's" of classified feedback, very few messages and no paid supporter tab. You know, one of these:

Advertisers PAY for that right and that money helps keep the lights on. I'm too lazy to look, but I'm assuming their entry fee is more that the $20 members pay to be a "Site Supporter"... not seeing that they should be treated as second-class citizens.

As others have mentioned, if any member, advertiser or not, "annoys" you, the ignore button it always there.

ETA: @marvin02 beat me to the punch, lol!

I vote for leaving it just like it is.

I mean, if we change anything I'd like to see classifieds by region. :dunno:

I'm the opposite. I hate it when a member posts multiple items in the same ad. Most who do this do not clearly mark items sold, often edit and remove items and due to space don't clearly describe each item or post decent pics of each item. The exception to this is multiple small items in the same category.
There is more to the classifieds than just a seller selling and buyer buying. If several items are bundled in a post it is hard to find, you cannot put several items in the header, you cannot mark individual items sold in the header of several items. This just makes the forum less useful.

Good morning. I want to apologize to everyone for stirring up a hornets nest. When I talked to the Gentleman about being a paid advertiser I was told I could use classifieds to market inventory. I was not told of any limitations or specific requirements for doing this. As a business we are trying to get our products to the eyes of firearms owners. Again I apologize if we upset anyone.
