i feel this is the most under rated shooting iron in existence. it takes all the good points from many brands and packs it all into one fine pistol, but you never hear too much about them, maybe because Mossberg doesn't do advertising like other big companies do?

Snoop pretty much hit the nail on the head.

I've heard good things about them, but never seen one in person. I'd probably pick one up if I ever came across it for the right price. It'd be nice to get a chance to handle one though. Even better to get a chance to test fire one.

If I ever come across one, I may buy it just to try it out at the range. It looks like a well designed pistol.

I had one...ergonomics were good (fit my small hands very well)...it shot well (smoothly) and was quite accurate!
Sold it when I needed some cash...but would definitely buy another one should the opportunity and the cash present themselves simultaneously!

I read where Taurus G3 15rd, and 17rd magazines work in these guns. So if that is true then Sig Sauer P226 magazines will as well because that's what Taurus G3 magazines are designed from.

I've never seen one of these guns, but I've heard good things about them.

Handled one when they first came out, haven't seen one since in the local shop I like to visit. Did feel good in the hand.
Same. I picked one up and it seemed to be well made and actually considered buying it but bought a different pistol instead. I considered buying one for my son for Christmas but also went a different direction
I would like to hear more about how they shoot before I move forward.

It's a polymer, striker-fired handgun in a field full of other polymer striker-fired handguns. There' nothing significant to set it apart from other better-known and more available options. Mossberg hasn't done a fantastic job of pushing them, either. I've never heard anything bad about them, but the only reason I even know they exist is because I spend way too much time researching and playing with guns.

some things about it that stand out to me are the stainless barrel and slide, the DLC black coating (the same finish real high end rollex wrist watches are coated with), good flat trigger, around 5lb with a good wall and a crisp break, and fairly short reset. the thinness (1.1") and length of the grip is unreal for being able to hold 16rd mags in there. the mags it comes with are Italian made mec-gar. its quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Well I'd test it out. Reading something on the internet and doing is totally different.

    Edit.
I know for fact that P226 magazines work in Taurus G3 series, and G2c.
I read that they can use Taurus magazines. So if they can use Taurus magazines they can use P226 magazines as well.

I have 3 G3’s and did not know the 226 mags would work. Will the Taurus mags work the other way?
If they are 17rd yes. The 15rd might, not sure. I have bought Mac Gar 18rd P226 mags for the G2c and it runs without problems. The G3 series uses the same magazines as G2.
I hsvd a G3x, and it uses 17rd mags from Taurus.

Lots of manufacturers out there are using stainless slides and barrels. Everybody has their own version of a black finish, all of them more or less equal. Flat triggers are everywhere, too. 1.1" width isn't remarkable, either...the P365, Hellcat, and others are even thinner. And the 365 Macro has 17 round mags, also made in Italy.

Like I said...it's not a bad gun, and a perfectly viable choice. Just not particularly remarkable in today's market.

from my research DLC is a better/more costly finish than all others. also these can be had for a bit over $300 on gunbroker. was thinking about the hellcat pro. im glad i didnt go with it. not looking for the smallest 9mm, just the best shooting/handling one. i have had several very small 9mm's and they were not very fun to shoot. mossberg got the size/capacity just right.

Whoa, hold up there. This is the internet, you're not allowed to have your own opinion on things.

I think you've got a good point though. It all comes down to whether you like the feel of it or not. Handling is definitely subjective and even shooting can be to an extent. It's nice to hear you're liking it though. Best comparison I can do is my G2C to a friends hellcat. I could group the hellcat WAY better. The G2C is a decent gun, but it feels and shoots like a $200 handgun. If you ask my dad though it's the best bang for his buck he's ever bought. Just don't make him prove it in terms of accuracy lol.

For me it comes down to this:

This offering and others like it (Stoeger and Taurus) don't do anything appreciably better than long-standing well-respected makes and models already on the market.

It's also way more difficult to find high quality holsters for uncommon/unpopular makes & models. And if I want a gun that's aimed at carrying - I want a high quality holster. Alien Gear, Vedder, and WTP don't count as high quality.

So for ME and my lifestyle, I'll pony up a little more in order to have access to higher quality accessories. And aftermarket support. And even being able to buy OEM parts on the open market.

Now - if I were needing a lower cost option for HD and that gun wasn't going to be carried? Then I'd absolutely look at the Mossberg (and others).

you probably already have holsters that fit it, pretty much any semi auto 4"bbl holster will fit, S&W M&P 9/40 leather paddle holster fits real nice, Sticky L-1 exc... as for quality it wouldn't be in the same category with taurus or stoeger, i would rank it along side with Smith and Wesson USA build quality, as they are made in TX from top of shelf materials. i have had great luck with mossberg customer service over the years with my shotguns, they really are hassle free (only takes one call or email), but not so much with taurus customer service.... that was a freeking nightmare, never again.

My buddy has the earlier single stack version and loves it. It's a solid pistol.
