Bushmaster Carbon 15 at Indy Gander Mt

Been a while since I have been here, and glad I stopped by to check this thread. Guy I went to school with has one he wanted to trade for an SKS I have. I really like the SKS and asked him about a trade for a Norinco .45 I own. After doing a little reading and research on the Gen I Bushmasters...

      Battle of Athens, TN

A good friend of mine sent me this in an Email. I studied American History, but never heard about this. Guess the powers that be didn't want the public TOO educated. So, I have decided to re-educate them, minus the bureaecratic shuck and jive to try and re-write the history books. I'll be...

MINOR MISTAKE, BUT STILL A GOOD TRADE ITEM.

A while back I was at a gun show, and thought to pick up some 7.62x39 ammo for storage. Evidently I wasn't looking close enough, and got some of the smaller calibre rounds for an AK-74. :ugh: Although I don't have anything that uses it, I figured that at the price I paid, it was still a good...

Three gun training ( six if you stretch the thought)

Three gun training is a good, solid, and practicle training dicipline that should be considered for practice by everyone that shoots. I recently came across a thought on the three gun training that I had not considered. Basic three: Main Battle Rifle...Semi-auto or pump shotgun...Primary...

      Shot shell question

COOL ! I noticed that they are being fired at the end of the effective range for shotgun shells in the second one. Good to practice ranging dicipline no matter what loads you use. Forces you to think about what loads you are shooting, and the target you are intending to strike while doing it...

      Shot shell question

Been pretty busy with life and all, and haven't been able to get in here and do any posts till now. Just wanted to get in here and get a little bit of feedback on something I saw recently. It's on the subject of "cut" shells for shotguns. SO.......it's a shell that has had a cut made in the...

      -1 1911! Why I won't be buying one.

I know how most folks feel about them these days, but the LEAST expensive one that I owned once was one of the Norinco's made in China. Shot well right out of the box, pretty accurate, and only had one malfunction ever, and that was a "stovepipe" that happened once at the range with some real...

      Interesting tool

I was doing a bit of reading a few days ago and found this. NEW- Crovel I like the idea for this one. Sort of the Swiss Army Knife of the shovel world. Multi-tools are a good thing if they are of good quality. I like that it is made in the U.S.A.,:patriot: and the fact that the thing has a...

      WEB GEAR QUESTION

I have been rather busy with some needed work around the home. I've been doing some work on getting a few needed items, and checking on some gear that I would like to purchase soon. A question comes to mind about web gear. I want to get a decent Tactical Vest for myself and a few family...

      Cheap MRE's

Have you considered getting off the shelf items in bulk and making your own ? :twocents: I have tried this, and like what I put into my homemade ones better then the commercial ones IMHO. All you have to do is basicly find items that are comperable to what they stick in one, buy it in bulk as...

      SURVIVAL FICTION LENDS A HAND

There you go...see, I started out sort of like toddk, and found the book "My side of the mountain" as well. I was around the same age when I discovered it, and I also was a tenderfoot Boy Scout at the time, and had a couple of different versions of the scouting handbook. Once I found a...

How to can bacon at home

I have one somewhere around here that I found on another forum once. Have not tried it yet, but the woman who posted it does a good deal of survival and preparedness posts, and mentioned in her posts that the bacon frys up and crisps just like it is suposed to when she tried a batch that she...

      SURVIVAL FICTION LENDS A HAND

I've been reading a bit of survival fiction stories lately, and have come across a few things while reading that have given me the need to pause and think about my own preparedness. I won't go into the stories, or the specifics of the things that I have thought about, but will say that a few...

How many Deer have you seen

I see them a lot more lately than I have in past years, but figure that this is because of encroaching development. I even saw a few turkeys a few months back in a guys front yard that has a large 5 acre lot. The most that I have seen at one time was incredible. I was doing deliveries for a...
