So Not a complete idiot for using unique case lube as a release agent. Had one area that had a bit of residue of the devcon on the action. I pulled the action last night out of the bedding at 5 hours (6 hour set time) gave me a good spot to clean up excess before completing cue of the devcon...

      Trijicon Accupoint or Vortex PST

I have just recently just purchased the Vortex PST and at a 1/3 the cost Primary arms 4-14 x 44 illuminated. Depending on what you are trying to do with it, unless you are at longer ranges glass clarity IMO means nothing. I think you are looking at trying to find a higher quality glass but if...

So i just pulled the action out of the bedding and it appears to have filled in really well. What was about a 5/8" to 3/4" opening is now the exact thickness of the lug. The interesting part is that you can see there is about a 1/16" infill of material between the bedding block and the back of...

So in the process of installing the trigger I had a couple of notices. First was the size of the recoil lug recess in the stock. Second notice was when the screws were in and not full tightened there was front and rear play in sliding the action and a good amont of slop on rotating the action...

I Have completed the install of the 7mm's Flat Timney trigger. If you have not done one and think you could mess it up it is super simple unless you are frozen by the thought of using tools. There are plenty of step by step videos on you tube. I have to make 2 adjustments to the trigger...

      work up again?

Agree, if the results are what you want and no pressure issues, stick with it. On a side note, and I know that you are not shooting Bergers, but you reference being in the lands. In the Berger reloading manual the talk about accuracy bands of .030 and 0.040 wide. The suggested when working on a...

      Reloading Manuals?

The longer you load the more books you will buy as it becomes a deep obsession. I just got the Berger book and had a great front end read. It is rifle only. I will say I do like the Sierra book too. Have the Lyman, lee, and one other that I can't think of now. I have my dad send me images of his...

I may try Ray. I have trusted the guys at Elmore's for years and I think that he may have rebarreled a couple of rifles for my dad. Thanks for the name.

Looking for suggestions on a gunsmith the the ability to thread the barrel and blend a buzzle break. Have reached to to bell precision. But looking for other qualified smiths.

Muzzle brake recommendations please!! Just bought my 1st bolt action .308

Look at Vias breaks. Midway has them based on barrel diameter

What loads are you working up for the new rifle season?

my 308 eats the heck out of 168's stacking near 1/2" groups on target. In my opinion you have a little bit of range with bullet weights in hunting as precision can give way to accuracy and even a minute to 2 MOA rifle is still viable to 250 because of the 5" kill zone. I agree with you on...

It is the long range version in the bell and Carlson with aluminum bed. Makes good sense to wait and see. If it ain't broke don't fix it. That is great perspective as my stock 308 is great with out the glass bedding. I do think I will go ahead with the muzzle break.
