      CC at gencon

A good flashlight is a must. It's the part of my EDC that sees the most use. I don't see anything in the rules that would prevent a trauma kit, either, but I don't yet own one, and I don't have any training other than Boy Scout first aid to use one. Quality emergency medical training is still...

I am inclined to think this way, too. My wife, on the other hand, is still getting used to the idea of my carrying a gun. She doesn't perceive the potential threats the same way many of us do, so she's content to put her trust in the "security professionals" to keep her safe. And she has the...

There's no downside for now. Perhaps Indiana -- and every other State -- should consider adopting Tennessee's new law, holding owners of GFZs liable for any harm that comes to a licensee on the premises.

As much as it galls me to kowtow to an idiotic GFZ, I think the consequence to getting caught is more than I am willing to risk (especially adding the pressure from my wife). *sigh* Has anyone challenged GenCon on this policy? Any feel-good "for the children" explanation of why they feel the...

      New to INGO from Maryland

Thanks for the warm welcome! I had been wondering if there was any kind of INGO meetup planned during the GenCon weekend in Indy.

      CC at gencon

Sure. Just trying to understand the risk. I can live with the risk of being told I have to leave if armed, but if it's "zero tolerance" "and don't come back", it might be a too much risk. I also don't know if it's going to be the sort of environment where, after 12 hours surrounded by smelly...

Haha! That's good to know. I grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and realized after the events in question that I had only been to Indy during the fall after DST ended. Well, one summer about 15 years ago, a friend and I decided to see a movie that was only showing nearby at the theater in Richmond, IN. So...

Based on that, any of my 2 permits (UT, MD) or 1 license (PA) should be sufficient for my legal CC in Indiana. And it says that a "no guns" sign has no force of law in Indiana. So, what are the recent experiences in GenCon like? Not worth the risk of ruining my vacation by getting kicked out? Or...

Many of Maryland's gun-owning subjects get non-resident permits from other States like Utah and Virginia, which I understand are recognized in Indiana. I am one of the few who have been able to get a Maryland permit, in addition to permits from Utah and Pennsylvania.

Pocket holster for a Polish P-64?

The P-64 is fine if it's carried with the safety on. The safety locks up the firing pin. Of course, disengaging the safety becomes its own challenge... I like the Sticky Holster size MD-3 for pocket carrying my P-64.

Let your geek flag fly!!! Gencon is here

I will be heading to my first GenCon this year, coming in from Maryland. I hope to see some of you while there! Will there be any sort of INGO meetup in the area? My wife will be attending the Trade Day, so I have all of Wednesday to myself... Dangerous to leave me unsupervised, I know.

GenCon is nearly upon us once again! I will be heading to Indy from out-of-state, and I'm torn as to whether or not I want to plan to CC while at GenCon or not. Anyone notice any changes in security last year? Or heard about planned changes this year? On the one hand, I don't want to be...

      New to INGO from Maryland

Hello, Hoosiers! My name is James, and I live in Maryland. I'm getting ready to visit Indianapolis for Gen Con, and I wanted to learn more about your fine State's gun community before my trip. I am originally from Ohio and have fond memories of various trips into Indiana, and one of them does...
