      Armed break-in & robbery in upscale Center Grove neighborhood

      I don't know if it was in that article, but in the TV news report, they stated that the perps woke the dude up with a gun to his face, so there's not really an opportunity to open fire in that case, even if your firearm was in your proximity. Self defense training might help, but that's about it.
