Design elements that make pistols more reliable?

Partly unsupported chamber (such as Glocks). Where a small bevel is cut at the lower rear of the chamber where it meets the feed ramp. This is what allows those guns to feed, camber, and fire any brand of any style bullet every time.

Guns that mean the most to you

I have a lot of guns. But, The ones I would never part with are my dad's old Marlin 60 that he paid $49 for at K-Mart when I was very young. My grandfather's Colt new frontier revolver will never bo sold. Also, my Remington left hand 1187 premier which I bought new when they first introduced...

      Upgrade Glock pistol sights?

I like the large white outline of the glock rear sights but not the fact that they are plastic (in case I need to rack the slide on something). I replaced the rear sights on all of my glocks with the same sight in steel. They are available on line. I replaced the front sights with Trijicon night...

Anyone with an American made Glock?

I read an article which said that most of the Glocks sold in the USA would be Austrian made and the USA manufactured ones were exported to places like the Phillipines (go figure). But, that over time they should start showing up on U.S. shelves.

How long do plastic guns last?

I always said I would never buy "plastic" gun because they would fall apart. Well, now I own 3 glocks. Glocks have been around for 31 years now and I have never heard of one deteriorating. Also, I am in the auto repair industry and often see the polymer stuff outlast the steel stuff. Having said...

      What's the fuss about a 1911 pistol?

I have a Springfield 1911 that is a great gun. While it might not be my first option for carry (weight & capcity), It is still a great gun to shoot. Very accurate and fantastic trigger. Besides the history of the firearm there is also the appeal of being able to customize them. I can change...

      Im a Glock Owner!!!

I like the glock sights but not the plastic ones. So, I replaced my rear sights with the glock steel sights (Same sight only steel). The front sight I replaced with a Trijicon night sight. I really like that set up. I hear alot of people really like the Trijicon high def sights with the large...

      Sig P229...Worth the price?

I have a P229 SAS in 40 S&W. The gun feels great in my hands and is scarey accurate. All of my freinds who have shot it have fallen in love with it. They are a bit pricey. The SAS comes from the custom shop and was $950 new. If I had it to do over I would look for used. It's a great gun but I'm...

Would you bet your life on a Kel-Tec PF9?

I've got about 300 rounds through my pf9 without a single failure. I had to do it 50 rounds at a time because it starts hurting my elbow. The gun is fairly accurate for a tiny gun. I like the slim profile for concelment but would rather have my Glock 19 if I'm wearing the right clothes. If...

How difficult is it for a lefty to shoot a pump shotgun?

I grew up shooting right handed Remington 870 shotguns left handed. The only problem I had was with getting the safety off quickly while hunting. When I was old enough to have my own I simply installed a left handed safety button (still easy to buy and install). Now I own a left handed 870. I...

      Level Action Rifles

I have a Marlin 1894 in 44 mag. that I use to hunt deer with here in Indiana. I have taken 4 nice deer with it out to 120 yards. Great woods gun, and hits really hard. My friend took a deer with it this year and liked it so much that he went and got one (used). I here that the quailty of the new...

      Need a little advice

I agree. Maybe Grandma is trying to use "uncle" as an excuse to say "Please don't open carry at my Christmas dinner". But, if "uncle" is that threatening, avoid topics that might set him off. If the conversation turns to politics or weapons bans, etc. just say "I wish they would address the...
