      Bullets

I am fairly new to reloading, have just reloaded my first batch of .223 REM using 55 grain FMJBT. I see that there are many configurations of .223 REM from Hornady. What resource will tell me the purpose of each configuration? There are so many I have no idea what most of them are designed for...

      HELP!

I am not crimping with the bullet seating die. I just don't understand why the manuals I have say the OAL should be 2.200 when everyone else is saying an OAL between 2.250 and 2.260 is fine.

Winchester primers should be avoided for AR15s?

I am reloading 223 REM and using Winchester small rifle primers. Based on the vendor's recommendation I bought both the powder (BLC2) and the used brass along with the Winchester small rifle primers from a reloading vendor at the Indy 1500 gun show in January. I ran across this website at 223...

      HELP!

That is what I thought. So why do both Hodgdon Manuals say the COL (OAL) is 2.200 inches for 223 REM? I don't get it.

      HELP!

I am trying to reload 223 Remington for the first time. I have made it to the bullet seating step-I am using the Lee Bullet Seating Die (see pictures). The brass is Frontier 223 REM, the bullet is a Hornady 55 grain FMJBT. The Hodgdon Basic Reloading Manual says that for a 55 GR SPR SP (no info...

Looking for reloading dealers near Mt. Vernon, VA

I am coming back to Indiana Thursday but will be coming out here again in the near future. I was hoping there was a reloading dealer in the area that I could visit during my trips.

Looking for reloading dealers near Mt. Vernon, VA

At the moment I happen to be near Mt.Vernon, VA. I visited three different gun stores but only one of the three had much of anything in terms of reloading equipment or supplies. Are there any reloading dealers like Profire in this area?

      Military vs commercial 223 brass

This is getting way more complicated and taking more time than I had planned. I am looking at my brass now (I purchased 250 for $45) and unless it has the NATO symbol (cross inside a circle) I am having difficulty telling the difference between the military and the commercial brass. How can I...

      Military vs commercial 223 brass

Crimped primers In January at the Indy 1500 gun show I purchased from a vendor a bag of .223 brass. I did not notice or ask at the time but when I got home I found out that about 20% of the brass was military and therefore the primers were crimped. I would prefer no military brass so that I...

      Calipers

Looking for suggestions on the type and brand of caliper to purchase and who to purchase it from. I prefer to look at it before I purchase it so I am leaning against an online purchase. I purchased locally a no name stainless steel dial caliper new for $25.00 but I am not sure if I am going to...

      How to find load data?

Just to make it clear I am NOT adding powder to even the first case until I have all the information, books, etc, that I need. Safety always comes first - I have NO plans to add powder willy nilly I can assure you. That is why I asked the question.

      How to find load data?

I am reloading a .223 REM. My powder is Hodgdon BL-(C)2 and the bullet is a Hornady .224 55 gr FMJ BT with cannelure. I cannot find load data for this combination anywhere. I am new to reloading so this is the first time I have looked for this information. I checked out both the Hodgdon website...
