I find it interesting that nobody talks about youth hunting in all of this. I have taken my two sons to Kentucky the past several years, and my oldest son shot his first deer with a youth model 243. Kentucky benefits economically from our deer regs - I spent quite a bit of money on lodging...
Final bump or back in the safe it goes. $900 FTF or $950 shipped. Includes Leupold rings and bases and 20 rounds of ammo.
Or trade for a Kimber Montana in .308, 7mm08, 243 or 223.
Isn't Sinclair International still in New Haven? Been a couple years since I bought anything in their shop. Did they move when Brownells bought them out?
I've got a 223AI enroute, and need to pick up some brass. My bud just ran 600 rounds of American Eagle 223 ammo through his AR, so that might work. I am just curious whether it is as good as Lake City '09 brass?
Thanks!
It will carry 1,000 lb ft of energy out to 300 yards. Effective range could be a little more than that if you wished, but 300 yards is all the farther I will shoot.
I've got two 358 WSSM's and this one has to go.
Model 70 Ultimate Shadow (CRF), blued action with blued 23" Douglas #3 contour barrel chambered in 358 IDC (Indiana Deer Cartridge also known as the 358 WSSM). Rifle was built by Fall Creek Custom Rifles. Lugs lapped, recoil lug bedded, factory...
Starting my boys off turkey hunting this spring. I am looking for a Remington 870 or 1187 20 gauge youth model, synthetic stock preferred. Please PM me if you have one for sale!
Thanks,
Marty
I think they are shortening the firearms and muzzleloader seasons, and moving the firearms season back a week, to increase the quality deer management and be more like Illinois and Iowa (don't hear too many people complain about their short seasons). I think with this move Indiana will become...
I've used Barnes bullets in my muzzleloader with great success - reckon they'd work well out of a 445 supermag? 200 grain XPB has SD of .155 and BC of .138, while the 225 grain XPB has SD of .175 and BC of .195.
Those barnes bullets flat go through any deer I've ever shot...
Right now Shooter's Pro Shop has the 25 cal 100 grain e-tips on sale for $12/50 for their factory seconds. Realize they're not the .243 but thought I'd pass the info along.
