      ATF FRT

You are correct. Or, you could make a custom brace that would go even on a foam covered one. But, the documentation seemed to indicated that just taking the brace off and destroying it doesn't make it legal using the same tube. You have to change the tube to something that was not designed to...

      ATF FRT

...or you could use a binary. I've shot binaries. You pull the trigger: BANG! You let off the trigger: BANG! You have to consciously do it, so, the traitor's argument on FRTs about it "not being a conscious action" is done. ...and let me tell you this: It wants to run like a Russian Race Horse...

      ATF FRT

The fact is, the rules say that you can't just destroy the brace. If the tube was designed for a brace, its illegal. Kind of like the blank lower deal. If you buy a blank lower and put a 16" barrel on it you can never, techinically, put a 10.5" barrel on it because it was once a rifle, now...

      ATF FRT

...but according to what "they" say (they = people that claim to know more than me), if it was designed for a brace it absolutely illegal because you can easily put a brace on it. But, if it wasn't designed for a brace (unlike the 3 or 4 position standard tubes are designed for a shoulder...

      ATF FRT

I am not a lawyer nor am I giving advice, however, it does not appear to be confusing: If you can put the brace back on it, its illegal. (illegal = law subverted by ATF deeming something is illegal, not actually illegal = do it and get charged). Essentially, the buffer tube cannot be designed to...

Best rifle for my unborn grandson?

This is THE WISEST suggestion so far. Private sale is definitely on the table!

Best rifle for my unborn grandson?

For my 60th birthday, my wife bought me a Cricket. I asked for one. I had really never handled one but I wanted to play with one. I figured they were pretty cheap. How good can a 22 rifle be for $120. Well, I'm here to report that they are not cheaply built. Other than the sites which are OK...

Best rifle for my unborn grandson?

ABSOLUTELY! I mean, a new build needs at least 200 rounds through it to make sure it functions properly. :ar15:

      WTB: Aluminum Casings, Any Caliber

I am looking for any caliber of aluminum casings. They're not worth much for salvage or reloading, but I have a specific need for them. Please let me know if you have any. Most people just trash them, but, I will buy them from you and pay to ship or will pick if near Terre Haute.

Free: 5 Gal Bucket Full of Shotgun Shells...

My nephew and his family like shooting shotgun but they don't reload. I don't reload shotgun. Anyone want some casings? As you can see, many mixed types. Looks like some 20s and some 12s. PM me and let me know if you're interested and I'll get them to you as cost free as possible.

5 Gal Bucket of Shotgun Shells

My nephew, Levi and his family like shooting shotgun but they don't reload. Anyone want some casings? As you can see, many mixed types. Looks like some 20s and some 12s. PM me and let me know if you're interested and I'll get them to you as cost free as possible.

Accuracy - where do you start?

Stick to standard bullet weights. Slower powders are better as long as you can get enough in the casing to get your needed pressure. You want to make sure your powder charge mostly fills the casing. Learn to read your pressures. I use primer comparisons and micrometer readings on the head of...

      HELP: 22 TCM problems...

Its kind of comical, I retooled from a 300 WinMag to handle 22TCM. Laugh all you want, but, its fun. Anyways, I have a problem. I don't have the ability to neck size, so, I'm running them up into the FL sizer staying about a nickels thickness from bottom. It neck sizes enough to hold the...

      300 win mag

All I can say is its *BIG*! I think 30-06 is probably the biggest cartridge I've loaded, ever. Not done any magnums. These things feel huge! But, all is working well.

      Hoosier Bullets Coated Bullets

Some bores like a bit larger size. I think the 300 BLK may like .310s? Not sure. I ordered the .309s which is usually what unsized 30 caliber cast lead ends up. I'm using them in lower speed loads out of a 300 WinMag. For bottlenecked rifle cartridges I use a stepped neck expander. Its expands...
