      can you get a 1911 with no safety ?

      Just one question, why? Practice your draw so you sweep the safety off as the pistol comes out of the holster. I've been carrying a 1911 for 5 years, and I shoot IDPA regularly, sweeping the safety off is so automatic that I don't even think about it.

      Over the last 3 years, I've probably shot 3000+ rounds of 45, and my wife 500+ of 40 and never had a problem.....

      Question about IDPA matches/rules/firearms

      We are normally pretty lenient for the monthly match. Come on out and shot, shouldn’t be a problem for a match or two. You could not use it at any sanction (state) match, or if you want to continue beyond a match or two, you should join IDPA and get a barrel that you could compete with.
