Correct. two differences. 1) the hammer pin was increased in diameter on one end and 2) the slide was milled to receive this larger pin.
The mags are no different from the F and the FS. The original 92 with the "heel" mag release mags won't work, however.

Beretta did in fact make a handful of factory nickle guns. Four (4) Beretta 92SB compacts were imported for a special collector in 1990 (if I remember correctly).

They aren't changing caliber, period. All the posts of Glock 22 / 21 or whatever are out the window due to caliber.
