Competitive Lockpicking is actually becoming more popular. TOOOL and Locksport International are organizations that promote the sport.
It's something that I've considered and looked into, but I have too many demands on my time as it is.

While I'm sure that Feinstein would love to have all of this, realistically speaking, this is just her starting point. In particular, the provisions applying to handguns and shotguns are more than likely just "bargaining chips" that she can use to attempt to divide gun owners, and to bargain...
My department recommends downloading AR mags by 2. However, I have never done that with my personal mags - PMags, Tapco and GI mil-spec - never had a problem with leaving my mags fully loaded.

Interesting thread. I have no experience with Hi-Points, but I do shoot and carry a Gen 1 Glock 21 (among others) and even at 20 years old it's still rock-solid reliable.
I was by their old store on Saturday, and it's closed (sign was down). Drove by the new location and saw them working on the exterior, didn't look like it was quite ready to open yet.
Last time I asked them (a couple of weeks ago), they told me they were looking at a mid-October opening. Incidentally, I've had nothing but good dealings with Highsmith. I highly recommend them.
