      Looking for appraiser

Got a friend who is looking to sell 10-15 firearms... some dating back to the late 1800's. Can anyone suggest a competent appraiser for him to talk to and look at the firearms? Needs to be in the Indy, Carmel, Westfield area (Northside). Thx!

Recovered firearm from 12 yrs. ago/Insurance Co.

Thor, yes, replaced it shortly after stolen. I just posted this looking for suggestions or experience with a recovered weapon that technically the insurance co. owns since they paid me after it was stolen. Probably more bull**** to deal with to get it back than is worth the effort. Thanks...

Recovered firearm from 12 yrs. ago/Insurance Co.

So, approximately twelve years ago I had a Glock 19 and other items stolen from my residence. I filed the proper theft report with local PD. Filed claim with Insurance in which they paid out slightly above my deductible. So I recently got a phone call that the firearm was found in a hotel...

      Different Tourniquet?

A tourniquet can be made of about anything. The one pictured is fine if it is used for the right purpose. Please be aware that the use of a tourniquet is a last choice for keeping someone alive. It should only be used when direct pressure on a wound fails to stop arterial blood flow. If...

Sandpaper versus rubber for improving grips?

"Skate-board" tape is my way. Bought a 25' roll years ago for like $10, have covered over a dozen pistol grips throughout the years with it. Originally started using a Hogue slip-on grip for my Glocks, but found it too fat for a comfortable grip. As far as problems with abrasive tape wearing...

      Gun friendly movie theaters?

Carry CC, believe in the phrase "Better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it."

      Hamilton Co. Sheriff's meeting

I have known Mark Bowen for years... worked alongside him as a firefighter responding to many auto accidents, etc... I think he should be commended for taking a pro-active approach to gun-safety considering the rash of reckless events that have happened in Hamilton County this year involving...

      A "must" book to read...

Highly recommended reading: "One Second After" by William Forstchen EMP event and how it's dealt with in a small community - fiction VERY eye-opening and thought provoking.

Texas football blowout leads to bullying charge from a concerned parent

Mediocrity being taught/enforced throughout our schools... everyone gets a trophy, no matter how hard you work. Sad for those who slack, even sadder for those who strive. Some kids/adults are in for a rude awakening when they start looking for a good paying job. Again, part of the downward...

      Proposed Constitutional Amendment

Supposedly, but many have profited, skirting the law via "loop-holes." Of course we would be in jail for such actions!

      New Kimber owner, insight wanted.

Fired a couple boxes of FMJ 230gr. through it this weekend. Much more recoil than the G26, 19 & 17 I've been shooting, but like it a lot. Picked up a nice Don Hume holster for it at the 1500 as well.
