I hate my shield 40 because of the flippy recoil. The trigger pull is very rough also. I suspect the firing pin safety in the slide is a bit gritty, causing the rough feel. As far as the flippy recoil goes, I'll look for recoil springs and try to smooth it out. With any luck, I'll warm up to it...
Thanks Manatee, the trigger pull is not an issue, I was just filling in some background info. I just need a little schooling on the timing issue I'm always reading about. Eg. Recoil / mainspring combinations. I use this gun for target shooting only! Thanks
I am trying to tune my Colt Gold Cup Trophy to be a little more tame shooting factory 230 gr fmj. I have the trigger pull down to 2# 10oz. I just don't understand "timing the slide/ hammer stuff". I do have an assortment of springs to use, eg. Recoil, main, and firing pin. But I just can't seem...
Thanks for all the insight on this matter! I'm shooting two gold cups and a S&W 41 on a weekly basis, and burnin 200 rounds per weapon. Iv'e been running junk ammo through them to get my fundamentals back on track after surgery. Thanks again for all the input! Fred
During my handgun cleaning sessions, I soak the frame and all parts of the gun in Hoppes #9 solvent. After brushing everything clean, (SHOULD I SOAK THE GUN IN 99% RUBBING ALCOHOL TO REMOVE THE SOLVENT BEFORE OILING THE GUN?) What is a good step by step cleaning practice? Thanks
I just picked up the CCC45 SS two days ago for a great price. It is nearly identicle to my national match trophy pistol. When was the CCC45 made ,as I can't find much info. on it on the internet. Any input would help, Thanks
