      Indiana Cities & Towns Thread

Warrenton, just north of Evansville, is home to the Log Inn. Built in 1825, one of the oldest original stage coach stops. Lincoln ate there in November 1844. History » The Log Inn

Was this how you learned to add multiple-digit number together?

My son (third grade) insists it is easier to add 374+271 than 374 +271 ----------- He has trouble carrying the one to the hundreds column. However, I make him do it that way sometimes because I fear he will have problems down the road with more advanced math. And he says he likes addition.

Guns being used for physical therapy

Ooh- sorting ammo by size??? Just make sure to keep guns and ammo separate. And locked- he isn't thinking clearly and don't need any other accidents.

Guns being used for physical therapy

What about real bolts? Sometimes knowing it is a toy makes patients feel stupid or like it is demeaning.

Guns being used for physical therapy

Fine motor- loading snap caps would work. Anything that would require nuts and bolts, screwdriver, etc., like cleaning or whatever. Opening and closing the case.

Guns being used for physical therapy

I think it is creative- I will take the challenge. Most healthcare facilities are "gun free", though, so I don't know how well it would be accepted. Cognition- sequencing, naming parts, following directions, yes/no questions maybe a nerf gun to "practice" his aim on a dart board (standing...

      Campaign to end unpaid internships

We are required to do an internship to graduate. So I actually had to pay college credit to work for 26 weeks. But it is a requirement for my degree and we knew it going in. Of course that was a long time ago for me.

      Evansville Cops At It Again

This is going on while thousands of people are in town for Frog Follies. Makes you proud. Glad to hear the police side- he disobeyed a direct order to put down the phone. That's a little different than they threatened to taser just for a hand gesture.

A question for real estate investors

We use the same local company that we use for auto and home owners. It is for the building only- not list home owners

      help with the wife

I agree. And you might want to go over the basics beforehand- like how it works, how to hold, safety, etc.

A must read - New health care rules most likely accelerated my fathers death -

Medicare is cutting back on the amount of therapy they will pay for as well. As a tax payer, I understand the financial situation. As a health care provider, I don't like my patients not getting what they deserve.

      Kids and cellphones...how young?

I wasn't trying to imply anyone else was a bad parent. I was just surprised that eight was the recommended age for a kid to be alone. But I have an immature eight year old. Also, I am over protective and blessed to have retired grandparents nearby so I don't need to leave him alone.

Counter Supination - a New Grip for Women with AR-15s

The opposite of supination is pronation, so why the term counter-supination? I have not tried it on a rifle, but it seems to me that it would really use the brachioradialis, thereby using a smaller muscle instead of larger ones.

      Kids and cellphones...how young?

8? Seriously? I can't imagine leaving my eight year old home alone. And no, he doesn't have a cell phone and probably won't for a few years.

Which Do Like more: Hand guns or Rifle/Shot guns

For me, my pistol is for defense but the rifle is fun to shoot. And we have a stockpile of cheap ammo for it. My son has been asking about hand guns. I might borrow a .22 revolver and let him shoot it.
