      It's not feed and function issues that you use a fixed-barrel spacer, it's to protect the barrel threads. That reciprocating action from the Nielsen device can eventually wear/strip them away. You can get a fixed-barrel spacer from Silencer Shop for $70.

      Additionally, .22lr shoots extremely dirty and most .223/5.56 cans are not user serviceable for cleaning. You should shoot a dedicated .22 can.

      I'll chime in that I've ordered from them a half dozen times both before and after the panic and the only complaints I have are the excessive lead times post-panic and that they stopped bothering to pack the ammo carefully in their rush to get orders out the door. I've had boxes just busted up...

      Speaking of multiple calibers and multiple lengths for your Form 1, DO NOT do this. As of Jan 2013, the ATF will kick back your application and make you correct it by hand and resubmit. Just put one caliber and one length of the potential SBR's original configuration.

      I second the H&K suggestion. I have a USP 9mm fullsize and the grip is rather large. Of course, I still use a Hogue Handall just to round out that blocky grip...
