      handle suggestions?

I have refurbished some old butcher knives using oak that I got from Lowes approx. 2"-1/8" x 3 foot piece they sell. I also used 3/8" brass rod for rivets, also got at Lowes. I used epoxy to firmly attach handle to blade shank also clamped it till setup. A little sanding and several coats of...

      Squirrel hunting/eating questions

I like to soak skinned squirrel, cut up in a bowl, covered in salty water in the fridge for a day. This will draw out some of the blood shot meat and also draw out impurities. I don't fry squirrel anymore, I have a smaller pressure cooker that I use. I brown the meat in it, then pressurer cook...

I need to get a few for the freezer, because I just finished off last years squirrels today. I had some freezer burn on some of the meat , so just deboned what I had. Used the pressure cooker with onoin, potato, cream of muhroom soup, along with the browned meat and it turned out real tasty. I...

      500 S&W Handi Rifle

Madtowngunny needs to get in touch with H&R about lockup issue. I have the H&R 500 S&W and the rifle packs a punch. If you mount a scope to this gun make sure you use high qualitity base and rings for mounting a scope that can handle high recoil. I use warne steel rings and base and have a Nikon...

I have the same tpye of shotgun with same scope rail mounting (cantilever barrel). I traded for the gun and it didn't come with rings. Handguns I'd just as soon never shoot again...

The only handgun that I really don't care to shoot again; wasn't the handgun but the caliber choice of that handgun. It was a T/C encore with the 35 remington barrel on it. My opinion that this was way too much recoil for a handgun... I just didn't like it at all....

Any thoughts on a Heritage 4.75 in 22lr revolver?

I have the Heritage with the 4.75" barrel and have no problems with it. I kind of like the safety deal on it and you can adjust the front sight. On adjusting the front sight I used very light taps with a plastic headed hammer. I also have a Ruger single six and it is made better, but the...
