      Ruger P95 slide is stuck

I wish that was the case. The ejector IS down. You can see it a little in this pic.

      Ruger P95 slide is stuck

That's the thing, you can't. It isn't in the barrel lug. Can't move the slide so that the pin can lineup with the removal notch.

      Cutting a dovetail

Classic! You can hand tune a piece of metal from the 1800's but can't figure out a phone made last week. Lol! I think it looks great and applaud your work. I think you figured out the hard part the rest is just a matter of time/finishing.

AR-15 To Loctite or Not to Loctite, That is the Question

After reading the posts and my own, humble experience I'd say that "to ____-tite or not tite" is a combined measure of modern manufacturing and metallurgy specs, your current level of experience and your willingness to try different methods. For example, I've noticed that pro and anti...

      "Custom" vs. "Tailoring?...?

You're right! But I think it's cause the American market is TOTALLY foregoing the "what if..." factor more than we value the "cool kid" element. I can't lie, I'm ok with both guys with big bank accounts who can order the supposedly latest, greatest piece of kit cause social media says so AND...

      "Custom" vs. "Tailoring?...?

Sounds crazy and don't make sense. But dang it if Bubba don't learn something new everytime he fudges something up. All that matters is, did that melted Glock still work...kinda!?! Lol

      "Custom" vs. "Tailoring?...?

"Smithed"...I love that! And I appreciate your sentiment. I hope I get older but not so grizzled that I turn my nose up at new innovations in the firearms community. There's always a need for the old and new just have to keep both concurrent. Even at the gun range/store I work for I clarify...

      "Custom" vs. "Tailoring?...?

It won't be lost to the world. Unfortunately, America is crippled. New, new, new isn't always better than what works, works, works.

      Ruger P95 slide is stuck

Sorry for the delay. I let my buddy have it to see if he can work his magic but no luck. I have one more idea I haven't tried yet. But in any event here's the pics

      Ruger P95 slide is stuck

The only gunsmiths I have access to are younger than me. If it's not a plastic gun or an AR they don't know what to do.

      "Custom" vs. "Tailoring?...?

So, I had a philosophical gun debate with my 14 year old son. I admit, that's a bad scenario off the bat. Every high school freshman boy is Spec Ops-level stupid, or as my mom would say, "Starting to smell his own funk". But I indulged the Convo anyway because I hear the word "customized"...

      Ruger P95 slide is stuck

The slide on my P95 is stuck. It's it's 2/3 of the way racked back. My son was reassembling the gun, pulled the slide to do function test and the gun locked in place. I already lowered the extractor but that doesn't do anything. Gun isn't seized up, it rattles a little. It's just mechanically...

      Help! Ruger P95 slide stuck

Yeeaaahhhh...this is gonna have to go to a gunsmith or Ruger. I have a sinking suspension that this is gonna involve popping out some frame pins at least in order to reverse disassemble. No big deal except that I've never done a full disassembly on it so I'm clueless as to how everything links...

      Help! Ruger P95 slide stuck

Thanks. With some wiggling I can get the extractor to go back down but still just as jammed

      Is this ammo corrosive?

      Wow, thanks!

      Is this ammo corrosive?

So simple soap/water cleaning is good enough? Don't need amonia type cleaner? I'm asking cause I made the huge, noob mistake by not properly cleaning my mosin years ago and that thing rusted so bad. I scrubbed and scrub that thing so bad the rust and pitting never came out. I love the gun so...
