The slide on my P95 is stuck. It's it's 2/3 of the way racked back. My son was reassembling the gun, pulled the slide to do function test and the gun locked in place. I already lowered the extractor but that doesn't do anything. Gun isn't seized up, it rattles a little. It's just mechanically locked. I noticed the barrel is slightly behind the guide rod. I suspect my son missed the barrel link when he inserted the pin. There's no way to remove the take down lever because it's pressed against the slide and I can't push the slide forward to the notch that would normally allow me to remove it. I tried lightly tap on the back of the slide with the rubber mallet, no luck. I thought about taking a Dremel and carefully cutting off the takedown lever but I can't find any replacements available online.

I don't have a p95 but I've had a couple pistols lock up similar to what you have. Don't reach for the Dremel tool. If it got stuck putting it back together it can get unstuck. Just take your time move things gently and slowly to to find the piece of the puzzle that has it locked up.

Not sure this will work but worth a try, you might need a second set of hands

Hold the frame, pull the slide back a hair
Have the other person try to push out the slide stop, if needed try a light tap with a brass tipped hammer and brass punch.

Not sure if it will work, but it sounds like something is binding with the slide stop

This has happened to me a few times...

It's the ejector. It popped up while he was reassembling it. Reach up the magazine well with a wire or hook and and pull it down.

Did someone insert a magazine while the gun was disassembled? That would account for the ejector being up. Always check the ejector is in the down position before reassembly.

It can be as it relates to experience, especially with older guns.
    Disagree...

I'm not at the age of social security, and can guarantee I have more experience with older guns than 99% of the population.

When I hear, "You aren't old enough..." it's aggravating. Don't base a decision on age...base it on skill or knowledge.

    Just my opinion.
