I have a 4" plates at 50 and 150 yards. I can hit the 150 all day long with my stock 10/22 and 4X scope. With a pistol, I'd do good to get the 4" at 50 30% of the time. If it were a 10" or 12" it'd be much easier.

I dont think I can see good enough to even see 10 inch plate at 100 yards.
I think the flat shooting 10mm helps
Therein lies my problem also. 3 or 4 in the same hole at 7 yards or even 10 yards is not that difficult but I don't see the sights or the target that well at longer distances. An optic makes a huge difference where the sights are concerned but nothing sharpens the target up.

I'm no Hickock45....but I can still hit 150-200 meter shots with my longer barreled (5") revolvers!
I built a Glock 34 and am using a KKM Precision 6" barrel...and it'll shoot 100 meters all day long.
At lot is due to one's skill set, developed over time, as well as what is their preference or forte`...

    In the country, hopefully.
Handed a guy with Parkinson’s my 5.7x28, which he never even seen before. I had made a rest for his AR that mounted to his motorized wheelchair. Using that rest he hit the 8”plate on the 4th shot and about every other shot after that was a hit for the magazine of 20. Gong at 100 yards.
    He was good.
    Thinking of you Harry.

We've got kind of an impromptu range in a long narrow clearing down along the river out at dad's farm and we have an 18" steel plate that we can hang from a tree limb!
None of us shoot 100% at 200...but we can make it clang once every few rounds!
At 100 meters...it's a fairly easy target to hit!
