The idea isn't to make slaves it's to lesson the load , which in turn hopefully means that society would have a better chance to at withstanding the coming changes.

yeah right, that's utter bull-craparoonie. Those that get the grand a month have done nothing to earn it, it is being taken from those that earned it and given away. Coming changes...like what? Global slavery of the working class lower 99%? Gonna be a lot of lead flying before that ever happens.

Society shouldn't have bred like rabbits when they couldnt affird it and someone else was paying for it and still pays to feed people who dont contribute and only take.
The world is gonna have a natural die off to correct itself I believe.
Its like feeding the animals in a park. They become dependent on it and forget how to feed themselves.

Governments purpose under this republic was never to take care of the people like this. It has already taken more power than it was constitutionalt granted. Now paying people 1k a month, NO. IMO the government should be abolished before we ever let that happen. Im just saying whats the point if it comes to that? Its no longer a Republic

What happens when Trump decides ubi would make him more popular and comes out in favor of it

Although I rate that as highly unlikely, I get it - it's your schtick to find something to criticize Trump for, even if he hasn't ever done it

What happens is, nothing changes. He's still far superior to any Democrat running or likely to run

ETA: What's going to happen when Harris comes out in favor of sleeping her way to the top - will all the candidates have to develop round heels? See, anybody can play that game

    This seems.... hostile?

Would many here have a "schtick" about discussing Obama enacting martial law, busting down doors to take the guns, etc... even if he's never done it?

It's just conversation. Just because there's nothing we can do about something, doesn't mean we can't talk about it. This forum would be empty if that were the case. Hypotheticals, even if very unlikely, are still exercises in debate... that's healthy.

From my POV, we have plenty of actual problems that people can and do blame Trump for without going into what ifs

What if JLudo turns out to be a progressive communist sock puppet? It's just stupid pot stirring. Has Trump said anything that would give a shred of veracity to that postulate?

Socialist malarkey, but I’d be lying if I said some small part of me doesn’t prefer less money in Washington and more in people’s pockets.

Over the years, Bill Clinton, Kamala Harris, speculation?:naughty:

What about 'speculation' and 'debate' about whether Mich(a)el(le) Obama is biologically female or just identifies as such? We were just recently chastised for not toeing the line with respect to that

Where Trump is concerned, no need to proceed from a factual basis when 'speculating' and 'debating'

Where INGO is concerned, progressive dogma must not receive pushback or we live in the dreaded 'echo chamber'. People who generally agree with the direction Trump is leading are guilty of 'blind loyalty' because they won't consider every flaw and misstep a game changer and abandon him for a bevy of much more horrible DEM alternatives or a Republican who hasn't proved he would have the backbone to stand where Trump stands and still be fighting to get important things done. SMH

Edit: "We're better than that" lolz

There's only 2 options for how basic income for all would go.
Option 1: it gets paid for by taxes and everyone essentially gets nothing because it takes $1000 from each person to give each person $1000.
Option 2: it is added to our national debt so future generations get to deal with the crippling and out of control debt.
