I think it all comes down to personal preference with those three.

Personally, I have the M&P and find it a very ergonomic and easy to shoot firearm but I have a long history with the M&P line.

I have a G20 and 40. Both good shooters, mags are relatively cheap and they go bang every time. Other than that they are Glocks, boring. Only two I own.

I've owned two G20s. One a Gen 3 G20sf and the other a Gen 4. As much as I wanted to like them, they were both sold after I realized that I just didn't enjoy them much. Right now, I have the full size M&P, which I like a lot. It's a bit more ergonomic feeling. I think the second Glock actually had a better trigger though, out of the box.

    Thanks for the replies.

Are both the Glocks & Springfield capable of shooting .40's?
NOT planning to make it a habit but good to know in a pinch if things got weird. From what I read the M&P will not.
The glock 100% will and I make a habit out of it because I bought so much when departments switched to 9mm.

I have a Glock 40 with a Vortex Venom lot of fun to shoot and great accuracy with my reloads, like others have said High Cap Magazines can be found anywhere for around 24.00 versus S&W mags 35.00 and up. I have shot 40 S&W out of mine no issues at all.

I don't see why the M&P 10mm wouldn't run .40 S&W. A few videos on YouTube of guys doing just that.
10mm is nothing but .40 Long +P, in reality.

Most modern factory loads are really downloaded. The original 10mm was a pretty hot round. That’s where the 40 Short and Weak came into being.

I have a load that shoots 200gr WFNGC Hard Cast at an avg of 1258fps with 800x which I guess isn't made anymore.
I couldn't push up any higher at the time because my Glock 20sf didn't have enough chamber support and was causing Glock Smiles which ruined the cases. So I backed down to where it didn't do that.
Now I have a 1911 10mm, and fully supported chamber, but I have no more 800x :crying:

I was on a quest to get 700 ft lbs of energy load and achieved it in a stock Glock barrel.

I'd ask what you have now? That way you're the most familiar with the platform.

I've seen too many XD's fail to consider the polymer line of springfields. But I wouldn't hesitate with the M&P or the glock. If you want extra magazines the glock is probably more readily available.

I have an M&P, haven't fired it yet. Just received some reloading components today, more on the way.

I have Springfield XD9's with many, many rounds through 2 of them, no issues whatsoever.

I like the aftermarket support of the Glock platform, not crazy about the unsupported chamber on stock barrels though.

I have XD's in both 40 s&w and 10mm. The 40 has a few thousand rounds thru it without a hiccup. The 10mm only has about 500+ so far without issue as well. The only other 10mm is a 1911 that has been good as well. I have a couple Glocks but not in 10mm. I have only had one M&P and didn't care for it. Had some issues with the trigger and sold it.

I have some of this as well as some 200 gr Norma. Also have a few boxes of Winchester Silvertips and Black Talons. Might be some old Super Vel and Hydra Shock down there as well. When I do get to shoot I normally shoot the modern run of the mill stuff.
