My mind got to wandering the other day which is not always a good thing.

Which got me to thinking that would be cool setup for show and tell. But then I would need a pair matching pistols. So I went through a lengthy thought process of what would they be. Commanders, Government, Colts custom builds or what.
After a lot of thought I settled on 5.4" 10mm's with full profile comps. Having said all this I should be posting pics of some really nice pistols but I am not
However I thought I would experiment with something cheaper and see if I really want to cut up a pair of Dan Wesson's or do expensive builds.
Instead I picked up a pair of 10mm RIA's and have 1 almost done. I test fired the 1st one yesterday with excellent results.
On to the pics.
pistols and comp blanks
Trimmed the slide to commander length
Cut the blank to the length I wanted and turned down the factory bull barrel and set up the blank. As you can see when the gun is in battery the blank sit at an angle and metal has to be removed to give a straight appearance
Some holes
Had to modify a commander bushing
A little more profiling and more blending needed but it is shootable at this point and recoil is greatly reduced. Should make a great bowling pin gun with 200 gr loads
Just cant decide on color/colors
