    Anyone have any info on New Rock Island 1911 45 cal semi autos?I have found them for $379.00 new in box on Gunbroker.com Is this a decent gun for the money?Thanks for any info

    they are worth it for the price. i had the tactical version and it was reliable. I put over 500 rounds of all kinds through it without issue. I also never had any issues with different/cheap magazines.

    I disliked the grips so I changed them. And it seemed a bit heavy compared to my other 1911s.

    Replace tactical version with compact version and my experience is exactly the same as LPMan59s. :yesway:

    I've considered buying one and dropping the money to "make it mine". They are nice but slightly heavier than others I've shot. I ended up getting a PT1911 ALR and don't regret it though.
