I bought this 1911 Systema off a buddy a few years ago in pretty good shape overall but the slide had been stippled on the top somewhere along the line but appears to be unfinished. I would have prefered it without but think it would look better finished. anybody kow somebody that could finish this?

    Bondo?

I guess if you really want to finish it, maybe a power engraver? Or a center punch and lots of time.

I'm kinda interested in the make. Any info on it?

    Could be anywhere
Argentine manufacture. I have a brace of the Ballester-Molina's that are a mix of the 1911 and Star designs. The 1911 was the service issues pistol but during WWII they had 'issues' with being on the sanctioned list so they had to come up with their own.

Here's a link to some more info: Sistema Colt 45 [Archive] - Calguns.net

Ping AllenM here on the forum and see if he has some creative ideas. He does cerakote and also some fantastic custom 1911 metal work. If anyone can fix that hideousness he can (or at least put some lipstick on it). That said, I have no idea of your tolerance for custom work on such a firearm.

This one was made in 1949, use to be able to get them pretty cheap but the price has been going up, as with about anything.

After staring at it for a while, I don't think it would be hideous looking if the work was completed.

If you could match up the pattern and maybe cerekote it a darker color, it might not be too bad.

I have been searching for the words but none come to mind.

I'd finish that lil "Block" area then run a file across it and even it out and call it done! :/
